[Dimensions2Folders] My needs...
« on: September 26, 2011, 02:31 PM »
Hi,

This is what I want to do in a simpler way :
Select (move/copy in another folder...) pics with WIDTH > 1024.

Actually with Dimensions2Folders, I sort all pics by dimensions then select folders containing pics with Width > 1024.

The best solution is to enable > < and * in "Sort only images that match these resolutions".

TIA for your answers.
Regards.

If that's all you want to do (sort by width greater than 1024), it might be easier for me to quickly write you a new commandline program to do only that.  Your thoughts?

Seems all your works are great, bro !    :P

I think the most elegant way (if technically possible...) is, in :

"Sort only images that match these resolutions" > "Add" > "Width" & "Height"

use of > (greater than...), < (smaller than...), * (any...)

But all proggy doing the job will be great !
(The task is to shrink, after sorting, to 1024 (width of screen), all pics greater than this value.)

=> SORTILEGE...    :Thmbsup:

TIA.

Please be patient, new member.
I know, I am reviving a very old request but having found this great program the one feature that would make it excellent for me (and I am obviously not alone) as opposed to great would be this exact feature.
Adding in the <> to the tolerance options would make this excellent.
We have way too many files to catalogue and need to easily weed out the thumbnails which tend to be "< or > a size" not "around a size"

The use of the folder delimiter also really needs a better explanation.

Hi, MetcalfeP, and welcome to the DonationCoder site.   :)

I know, I am reviving a very old request but having found this great program the one feature that would make it excellent for me (and I am obviously not alone) as opposed to great would be this exact feature.
Adding in the <> to the tolerance options would make this excellent.

I'll see what I can do.  Thank you.

The use of the folder delimiter also really needs a better explanation.

That feature lets you specify which character(s) to use in between the width and the height.  By default, the value is " x ".  That is, space, x, space, resulting is destination folders such as "800 x 600"  and "1024 x 768" etc.  You could put a single dash in there and it would create folders such as "800-600" and "1024-768" etc.  You can try different values in that field and it will update the sample text to the right in real-time.  Does that explain things a bit more clearly?

I'm not getting the purpose of quoting here in a dead thread?  When there's already a thread for it?  If it's because it's in the wrong location, then perhaps flag it for moving?
