If that were sex, everyone would have AIDS and they be calling each other things like, "uncle, daddy, brother Joe". :P

It is informative to see who has the most legal activity on the diagram. About sums up their attitude to innovation.

That pretty much damns Apple, but also places Kodak in a precarious situation.

True - but who thinks Kodak are any good (at least Apple has a fan base, however misguided)? Presumably all Kodak have left is taking people to court for patent infringement - they have basically completely destroyed all credibility as a technology producer - which is a shame as they used to make good cameras at least. Even they are total crap now. Don't even get started on the non-existent customer service!

I've got a patent on the active process of exchanging oxygen with carbondioxide in the bloodstream by means of hemaglobine, and using a regular pumping spasm in the heart of moving around these interesting little molecules. I demand compensation for your rights to breathe. I PUT WORK INTO READING THIS THREAD AND WRITING THIS PARAGRAPH, THAT'S WHY.

I'd like to warn you not to step over my patent for:
using pressure to make from 2.6*1022 up to 2.7*1022 elementary entities fit into volume of 1 litre :p

*) something about 6.022*1023 for 22.4 dm3

looking at this chart on mobiles... can't help but wish for some new technology idea to come and render most of it irrelevant... that'd be just the thing... *sigh*

That is quite brilliant.

And, I must admit, I never thought of those screens as being tablets when I've watched the film. I thought they were embedded screens in the table - as I hadn't the imagination to think of them as tablets. (Yet, again, 2001 amazes me... Can't remember if the novel describes "tablet" type screens.)

What is particularly brilliant is that they avoid citing any other device that may carry a patent!
