[edit] maybe I was overly hasty in my criticism - I see the tools are often more complex than I thought [/edit]

at first I thought 199 was the full price and we were going to get 90% off of that, but no...

I came across them before - they make an expensive programme out of what other programmes would have as an option -
Tiff merge and split for $27
Scan and Split for $49 sorry, that's ridiculous

I dont mess around with PDF's usually so maybe some of the 'options' are worthwhile?

I'd say keep your money though, check out dc for alternative methods

hehe.. i thought the same too, that it was 90% off $199. the programs seem to be marked-up to cater for this promotion. nevertheless, i do use two of their freeware tools, PDFInfo and PDFNumber.

on a closer look maybe I was overly critical:

Is it my imagination or does their website seem to be abnormally quiet about WHO they are and WHERE they're located?

I have a real problem with internet-based business that don't furnish things like

• Legal name of business
• Street address
• Phone number
• Years in business
• Names of company officers

A whois query of their URL indicates it's a private registration. Talk about stealth! I could understand if they were an investigative blogger trying to retain a small degree of anonymity. But a business?

Anytime somebody wants to do business business with me, I want to know exactly who I'm dealing with. Which is only fair considering they can find out anything they want to know about me the minute I give them a credit card number.

Sorry for the mini-rant.  I know many other web businesses are also guilty of not providing company information so they're not alone in this. But this is one of my pet peeves.

A-Pdf and Boxoft seems to be two parts of one and the same company.

There are of course many Alice Lis, but I would be surprised if any of them actually turned out to be this Alice Li.
