This giveaway is for Desktop version only. The thing is that the giveaway license key is exclusive for version 1.37, and version 1.37 simply has no Portable version.

It's available for all visitors of DonationCoder. But members have an advantage they will receive a newsletter soon, where this giveaway will be mentioned, this way they will not miss it

1) How can such an old, abandoned version be a "full" version?
2) The price for version 2.23 is $23.80, not $34. Version 1.37 has no $$-value since it isn't for sale.
3) If the new $23.80 version is "de luxe", how can the old, outdated version still be "de luxe" "worth $34 value"?
4) What to do if the user accidentally updates from version 1.37?
-- I guess it is very important to keep the old installer.

It's two months old. This is the point - you get two months old version for free. Want absolutely fresh version? Buy an upgrade with 50% discount until end of this promo (you can find coupon on giveaway page).

Perhaps you got some special promo, don't know, but our price is $34. You will find same price at all our affiliates all around the Internet. All version 1 customers paid $34 for it.

We send you the license key, which can be entered at any time (there is no restriction on installation date), so simply keep 1.37 installer handy, and you'll be able to switch to version 1.37 at any time, even after trying version 2.

maybe you could add this to first post? - it's good to be clear - also otherwise people may be disappointed if they try to upgrade at a later stage...

Good point indeed. We'll prepare it and place it to our web-site. While it's not ready I can enumerate most significant features available in version 2:
1. Alarms (you can associate alarms to Folders, and insert multiple alarm objects in to the Note text at any location)
2. Password-protect access to individual Folders (in version 1 it's possible to restrict with password whole data file)
3. Spell Checker
4. Background colors in the tree (looks pretty nice to me)
5. Sorting folder content by name/date/creation/etc
6. Dialing. You can simply click on phone number anywhere in the text and dial it using Skype or Modem
7. Skins - we've added some more skin variations in version 2. Basically it's same two skins as in version 1, but with more variations with colors.

I think it's pretty much it (however it may be that I've missed something). Also, soon we'll implement Tables (almost done), Synchronization over Internet, and Mind Map view, you can find more details here - http://www.vladonai.com/allmynotes_support_faq_beta.php

Oh... one more thing to mention... Version 1.37 has all the fixes and many refinements from version 2, as it's built very recently.

So, with the giveaway discount, the final price is only $17. Well... I did try to apply the 25% regional discount on top of that, but it wasn't having any

<sigh> One more in my collection of licenses!

noted: different checksum of file since last promo,
previous promo had your license name include "(Non-Commercial Use Only)" - this seems now gone
portable: you can create the file "Portable.sig" after you installed and place allmynotes on your usb.
