GOG.com confuses everyone including themselves!

recently Gog.com, a download-only games retailer announced that they're closing shop due to publishers' insistence on implementing DRM on the games that were sold to which they could come to terms with. bear in mind that GOG stands for 'Good Old Games' so they sell only classics and some other old games that they can get hold of.
however in an ironic turn-around, they made a new announcement that they're back again and the earlier notice was due to the end of a two-year beta stage and now they're "launching a brand new GOG.com with new, huge releases".
hmm.. curious way to end a beta.

Did anyone already have it? I was just wondering what the alternative gift was...
