I think it's pointless, short of idle entertainment -- but the cat doesn't seem to mind, too much.  Up here in Northern Maine where it's cold, he'd probably appreciate it

These pics are from a japanese store which sells all manner of hats for cats. I did have the url at one point but I've since lost it. Some of the images were quite humorous/humiliating. The cat never looked particularly happy with the assignment either.
