The LP and cassette transition to CD all over again. Don't be surprised if the companies continue to rip you off when digital media is widely available.

sadly it's the same deal with digitally delivered games, they are priced higher to appease the publishers/retailers.

The price actually seems to drop faster on digital games, though.  I bought Supreme Commander 2 for $11 this weekend- and it just came out a little bit ago.
