You never heard of Xenon?

Then maybe also not of the Bitmap Brothers? And their other pearls of gaming history? (Gods, The Chaos Engine, Speedball, Cadaver, Magic Pockets).

Very highly regarded in the time that the Commodore Amiga was the king of the hill. A unique drawing style, but always recognizable. When you would run their games in a Amiga emulator, you would clearly see why their games can stand the test of time. Or better yet, nostalgia does not have to cover up anything.

We never owned an Amiga. We had an Intellivision, TI-98 (?), and an NES in the 80s and early 90s.

I like this game and all others of the Bitmap Brothers. Xenon is a good & difficult but rather slow scrolling shooter compared to the rest. It was developed during the golden times of the Amiga. Hey, this is made by the original ones! The grafics look great:

yes, this modern version is by the same Bitmap Brothers of yore.. also iirc there was a DOS port for both games - the original and its sequel: Xenon 2 Megablast.

Anyone who did not own an Amiga has indeed missed out on one of the most enjoyable (and mismanaged) computer platforms in the history of Man.

The Bitmap Brothers were geniuses in their genre.

I played the DOS version back in the day, time for a nostalgia trip.
