with a little help from Google translate, i came to know about this offer by CHIP.de magazine for its online readers. The full version of Alcohol 120% 5.0 Blu-ray is available for free. if you have the need for it, go to the link below and grab this offer!

Note: The website also mentions that this version of Alcohol 120% 5.0 Blu-ray is exclusively only for Windows XP and Vista but not for Windows 7.

Did you try it out? The website says it's the German language. Is there an option for other languages, like English? I still have some non-Windows 7 PCs this thing could work on.

i didn't try it because i have no Blu-ray drive. anyway the normal Alcohol 120% has a language option, so this Blu-ray version should have it too unless it's been locked by the providers.

~ You'll get a confirmation mail & one with user name & 'Code'
~ You have to give these in during the install (no picture of this step) and again after install

From my understanding (the logos on the picture in your original post) the Blu-Ray version of Alcohol 120% also handles DVDs and CDs as well.

The install is in German but once installed the program menu's are in English. Have not tested Blue Ray stuff don't have one but a worthy find nether the less - for the CD/DVD capabilities.

If you want to rip BluRay or DVD to .mkv you can use MakeMKV. It's in beta(and free while in beta) for who knows how long.  Also DVDFab Passkey is still in beta.  Insert the disc, then drag & drop the entire set of video folders to a folder on your HD.

Sometimes one will work where the other doesn't.  MakeMKV is more confused about "episodic" DVD/BluRay discs than DVDFab Passkey.  Sometimes MakeMKV rips a "main movie" type disc much better/faster than Passkey. It's good to have both. Just be sure to disable Passkey while you are using MakeMKV.

I'm a little leary of this. The official web site for Alcohol 120% is http://www.alcohol-soft.com and the latest version on the official site is v2.

EDIT: Thanks to Curt's explanation it is some weird versioning for the German market only.
