"Find and RunRobit" help file links
« on: March 29, 2010, 11:27 PM »
I tried to visit the following site - found the link in help file -as "Find and Run" started hanging and locking my XP-SP3 system.

RunIt! - http keleos DOT h11 DOT ru - now freeware!

This site is marked as "Attack site" by google. Suggest you verify and take appropriate action  to remove it from your recommended lst.

this makes me glad that Farr is named uniquely but RunIt! isn't the same as RUNit. you can compare the screenshots and also check out the archived RunIt! page.

Thanks Lanux, I wasn't sure and didn't think to check web.archive.org.

RunIt! - http keleos DOT h11 DOT ru

I used to have RunIt! on Win98SE.  Nice features, but my system never seemed stable with it, so I haven't tried it since.  My chief dislike about FARR is its sheer size, also complexity.  With a bigger HD I do have it installed, but rarely use it.  Mostly I use Horst Schaeffer's PopSel or Qsel.

even though the program mentioned in the OP is more like Farr. for menu-based app launching, Launchbar Commander is a better fit than Farr. check out this thread for various screenshots of the program in use.

I had one old time software - MIMPro - which allowed special right click scrolling feature and have used for many years. Apparently it was conflicting with FARR. I have temporarily disabled it and will test it out for a few days.

I have also disabled searching in D drive where my standalone applications are stored. Once I have this sorted out I will come back with my report.
