This is the professional version with disk, partition, and file backup options.

(The commenters on GAOTD also have tips on how to install it later on ???)

Note you don't need to download this from GAOTD - you can do the following:

Go to: http://www.paragon-s...stration/db9pro.html

and regsiter (I presume this is 1 day time limited).

You get registration details by email and a login to the user area where you can download the full installer without the GAOTD wrapper.

The Paragon website gives the following compatibility information but there is some debate on GAOTD as to whether the free version actually has the 64-bit support. I can't test it because I don't have a 64 bit OS installed at the moment.

Supported Operating Systems

    * Windows Vista (32/64-bit)
    * Windows XP Professional (32/64-bit)
    * Windows XP Home
    * Windows 2000 Professional
    * For server operating systems backup see Paragon Drive Backup Server Edition

Supported Hard Drives and Removable Media

    * Parallel ATA (IDE) HDD
    * Serial ATA (SATA) HDD
    * SCSI HDD
    * All levels of SCSI, IDE and SATA RAID controllers
    * CD-R/RW
    * DVD-R/RW
    * DVD+R/RW
    * DVD+/-R (DL)
    * BD-R
    * BD-RE
    * USB 1.x/2.0 and IEEE 1394 (FireWire) devices
    * PC card storage devices

I've used several versions of Paragon Drive Backup with Vista and I've had problems with the backup capsule feature.  My advice would be if you are going to create a backup capsule in Vista check out partition table save/restore/fix programs first.  I had problems with this feature on both 32 bit Vista and Vista64 SP1.  It worked fine on XP.

Also if you have "fake raid" I suggest making the boot CD, booting it, and going into the restore program.  If it doesn't like your hw, usually right then the video will go bonkers and you'll have to cycle the power.  If it goes into the restore program from the CD(not in compatibility mode but the normal one) then you should be okay. In fact this is a good idea if you have fake raid or not.

If it likes your hw the program seems to work fine, backup capsule aside.  I just backup to an external USB drive. I just got one of those BlacX USB docks that you slide an internal Sata drive into.  Makes it even more convenient.

If you are on XP chances are you're golden but it's too late to check after you need to use the restore! :)

Hi Folks,

You get registration details by email and a login to the user area where you can download the full installer without the GAOTD wrapper.

Just to be clear, we have.

Registration: Paragon Drive Backup 9.0 Professional Edition GAOTD (English)!
Download:    Paragon Drive Backup 9.0 Professional summer_special06

As far as you can tell, this registration "takes" for this download ?  The download would have to get its own registration though, since it asks for email confirmation.  Or do we have to find a copy of the earlier GAOTD file ?

Shalom,
Steven

Not sure I assume they are the same ting since they appear after you register for the free version.

Has anyone check to see whether 64 bit support is included with this offer?
