From freewaregenius blog today:

If you’ve ever encountered a blocked startup app in Vista and would like a work-around that can bypass it then read on. This posting will describe how to launch an app on startup as a scheduled task, which will circumvent the startup apps list altogether. Ultimately you will be able to get your app to launch without seeing the notice in the screenshot and without having to shut down Vista’s User Account Control security infrastructure.

No offense, but seems like a long way around @ 1st glance... Haven't ever had something blocked like that,  but then never used UAC either 'till 7 made it endurable. 1st thought is why wouldn't app compatibility work easier/better? Does provide a different sort of solution though, that might come in handy sometime.

UAC was perfectly endurable with Vista - if you're using one of the bumped-down settings in Win7, you're exposing yourself to exploits. While the lower settings are better than nothing, they're not safe.
