an app that downloads specified websites (maybe multiple instances for multiple websites) and checks after some time whether the site has changed or not ...

i've actually thought about doing this..
it would be easy to make a very minimal little tray tool that watched a certain page for changes..
the only question is whether there is really a need for such a program given the other web page change monitoring tools.. i wonder if the free ones listed in our wsw review do this already..

A service like ChangeDetection.com is better than this app.

1) You are notified vai email.
2) You don't need to keep a program running (even if in the background)
3) Someone else is worrying about it.

but changedetection checks the entire webpage .. without any rules etc  .. but i think i will find some good freeware tools here: http://www.snapfiles...isctools/fwmoni.html .. thanks anyways ..

well .. i've testet *all* the freeware .. the trials .. and the best tool is definitely http://www.wysigot.com .. they have a freeware and a pro version ..
