Listen, please.  Stop reading this post if you value your time in any way, because i've gotten sucked into these video reviews as well as the boardgamegeek website which i have written about in the past.

Today i once again got sucked into the black hole of time dilation while learning about and reading reviews on board games.  I don't even really enjoy playing games much but these damn reviews and learning about all the wonderful creativity and variety in these games is addictive..

But any, the main point of this post is to tell you about this one wonderful video review site called The Dice Tower, and the top 100 ranked list of board games with accompanying video reviews.  The guy who runs the site, Tom Vasel, has a cute daughter who normally sits with him as he does the reviews, and he does a great job of telling you why he likes the games.  And his taste in games is a good match for me -- he doesn't go for the super complex games, and he is always looking for fun stuff, regardless of the genre.  Great work Tom.

Here's a hillarious easter egg i just discovered.

You know how silly it seems that all these toys always say: warning small parts not suitable for young kids?
Ok watch the review on this page: http://www.thediceto...r/index.php?page=4-6
and then go to about 4 minutes 50 seconds in.. watch what his daughter does.. hahahahahaa

you know what i think he's done? i think he must be using those kind of candy gum pieces that look like pebbles for all of his games..

Tom Vasal is a prolific reviewer, posting several new video reviews to YouTube every week. At first I found his kids rather distracting, but over time I've grown to enjoy their participation.

However, when she's not scouring the rules, Holly does eat rather a lot of pieces!

yep, i mentioned boardgameswithscott.com in my previous post about boardgamegeek.  his reviews are much much more detailed than Tom's, but i find Tom's short reviews almost always tell me what i wanted to know to figure out if it's a game i might be interested in (the answer to which is almost always certainly no).  i think i enjoy learning about these games more than i have any real desire to play any of them.
