Well, it looks like it doesn't like .wal winamp skins.  It likes .wsz skins.  That seems to be the common denominator.  You'd have to ask others with W7 using different builds.  I'm using 7077. Vista doesn't care.  .wal skins are fine on Vista64.

I won't be able to be of much help.  I run XP and don't use Winamp.   :P  Thanks for the testing and feedback, though.

At least now you know if you get somebody complain about Winamp and W7 to tell 'em it's a skin thing.  Not your problem. :)

lanux, here you go.  The only column you can't hide is the Filename colum.

v1.1.4 - 2009-08-01
+ Added ability to choose which columns are displayed.  You can find it
under the View menu.  (Thanks, lanux128)
    * Moved the "Say total time" to the Extra menu.

that works perfectly. thanks Skwire. :)

skwire, would it be possible to add total file size info?  If stuff is in the same folder you can get total file sizes easily in explorer, but if files are located on various drives it would be very convenient to use "Add to Playtime" shell extension to get the total size of the files.

Would the statusbar area be okay?  Or, would you like it somewhere where you could copy out the data to the clipboard?

Status bar is fine.  If it's not too much, could you have either an option or hardwire it to output as KB, MB, GB depending on the size range like a lot of file managers do? That just avoids doing the math if some size in decimal will fit on a CD or DVD(you know, dividing by 1024 instead of 1000 is a bit of a brain cramp sometimes.)

Thanks skwire. :)

v1.1.7 - 2009-09-07
+ Added size output to the statusbar for total and selected sizes.  Sizes under 1024
megabytes are shown as "MB" while sizes over 1024 megabytes are shown as "GB".
      (Thanks, MilesAhead)
+ Added selected/total rows count to the statusbar.

You're welcome.  This has been a fun one to make.  I dig listview-centric apps like these.

1) re-edited: my PlayTime cannot read .wpl!?

2) I see PlayTime already is able of exporting as .CSV files, so I wonder how little (much) it would take to make it capable of CREATING playlists? Or is that an all different game? The PlayTime name would still be perfect...

Geez!! I didn't realize Explorer will show the total time of selected media files if you have Details Pane selected in Layout(or at least it does on both my Vista PCs but I have MediaInfo installed on each so I'm not sure who is doing what.)

-oh, how I have been struggling to figure out how to replicate this. I have fumbled for several hours with Vista Explorer, MediaInfo, and QTTabbar, but so far Vista will still only tell me "last modified date (period)". No 'Total Playtime' info!

What do you say, Miles; any idea how you've managed to have Explorer tell you the total playtime?
Anyone?  :tellme:

I'll be the first to admit that my support of .wpl files is FAR from complete.  Would you mind posting or PM'ing me that .wpl file?

Sure, exporting as simple .m3u file is very easy since it's just a list of filename/paths.  Would that be acceptable?

 (see attachment in previous post)

I can't find where the setting is hidden but you need to enable Preview for the Explorer folder.  That should give you a pane at the bottom and when media files are selected you get info including playtimes.  I have MediaInfo installed with explorer extension enabled.

Edit: or just use skwire's PlayTime.  I believe it's not in memory all the time. Just launched when you run it via shell extension or manually.  And the shell extension works in both 32 and 64 bit.  I have it on both Vista64 and W7 32 bit.  It's more versatile than Explorer method because you can select some files, do Add To Playtime, then select more files in another folder and add them.

edit: ok, see from other posts you are already working with skwire.

Also I've tried several file types like .mkv and .m2ts and it doesn't seem to work with those afa display of total time or run times generally.  It's likely .avi and a few other types.  Best to go with PlayTime as Explorer looks like it will be imcomplete afa media file type support.

playlist * playlist.wpl.zip (3.89 kB - downloaded 421 times.)

Edited:
Can the problem just be that the files are placed on two different drives?

Where are the actual files in relation to the playlist file?

The playlist file is situated in the main music directory on my C: drive together with some of the audio files, while other music files from the playlist are placed in the extra music directory on my D: drive.
Both fixed 'internal' drives.

I need to know the exact structure since the .wpl file is using relative paths.  For instance:

..\Cock Robin\Unknown Album\04-Just Around The Corner-Cock Robin-unknown album.mp3

At the very least, I need to know the full path to that .wpl file as well as that file above.

The two files in that playlist from your D: drive are fully pathed so those should show up in PlayTime, at least.  Do they?

I also need to know the path to the .wpl file itself.  Thanks.

v1.2.0 - 2010-11-23
+ Added ability to view total time in hh:mm format.  (Thanks, T. Idele)
    * PlayTime now only computes total time when done adding files to the list.
This should speed up things when adding very large lists of files.
