best free rename utility for 2009 - which is it?
« on: February 17, 2009, 06:01 AM »
After just reading in https://www.donation...index.php?topic=1146 that Bulk Rename Utility isn't updated anymore (just when I found some bugs, duh!), I want to ask you guys which utility you recommend.

It should be free, I don't need RegEx and I like it when I can use a program intuitively.

And it would be great if the author still updates it.

BRU is no longer retiring! Development will continue in the future. :D

And, what is the "best" everyone must decide this on his own habit.
I like free and portable renamers ... so i use Siren and ReNamer

Its very old but I prefer for fast and simple renaming the 1-4a Rename in expert mode (press F2 after start).

That looks old indeed.  ;)

For the time being I'll stick with Bulk Rename Utility and hope the bugs I found will be fixed soon.
