There are plenty of commercial programs that have this feature, but it's not something I need often enough to warrant paying for.  If anyone knows of a free for commercial use tool that will work, please let me know!

After about 20 minutes of searching on Google, I found something that worked (at least for the text I needed to capture today) - http://www.ghacks.ne...-convert-it-to-text/

I have been looking for a similar software but I have not found anything usefeul, by that I mean something that would work in different conditions. I found that many screen text capture stuff fails. They work in perfect conditions only.

Some time ago I'd also written small utility with AHK for such purpose but later I found what you can see above.

1. To copy text from Windows Error Message... CTRL + C, open text editor and then hit CTRL + V.  :D

2. See rjbull's post for a few freeware tools to extract text from window controls.

Any tool that can grab XUL, wxWidgets and webkit window texts? ;D
