Minicap formatting does not work
« on: August 15, 2008, 04:50 PM »
-capturescreen -save "C:\temp\$dt:Y$-$dt:m$\screen_$appname$$dt:Y$-$dt:m$_$dt:H$-$dt:M$.png" -exit

I am trying to capture screen by year-month\screen_applicationname_year_month_Hour:Minute and I cannot get it to work :( First application name is not passed, then hour minute format is not passed to name

I dont think the problem you experienced was a "bug".  you were doing a screen capture, in which case the application name has an ambiguous meaning -- and minicap wasnt capturing it.  $appname$ is for when you capture an application window.

Having said that, i've uploaded a new version with some fixes.  It now will grab $appname$ as the foreground window name, plus i added a few more options.  Let me know if it solves your problems.

That works wayyy better mouser! thanks! Amazing, now I can group my screenshots according to app and dates, very helpful for organizing. You may want to change its name to minibutmightycap!

Here is how it looks (and sure it is taken with minicap)
