FARR Lite request!

As a long term user of v1 i've just tried v2 for the first time and memory use is 16348k (no plugins)
v1 is sitting at 896k
For a non keyboard maniac a simple bloat-free launcher is all i need - so back to v1 - it's perfection for me !
So save the download link for v1 (renamed lite?)

I agree, version 1 was good, and I kinda dropped off the bandwagon after the v2 beta came out. IMO too many options and too confusing (I have a brain that simply demands... simple ). Maybe put it in an archived section?

The memory usage when minimized should be very low, even on FARR v2, as long as you have it configured properly.
Here it's 1468k when minimized (compared to your 896k) for FARR v1.

To me that seems very reasonable.. v1 is so inferior compared to version 2, no one should be using it.  Just remember to look at memory use when minimized, since that should be all you really care about -- not memory use when you bring it to the front, in my opinion.

hastily recovering v2 from recycle bin and 5 mins removal of any unecessary options and only searching start menu i'm down to 13740 ...

Interestingly my version if set to stay in memory longer, never seems to release memory and stay up around 20,000, either of the other 2 options do, with minimal it goes to around 1200 and on average goes to around 3000.

interesting topic. normally, i use Process Explorer to check memory usage but i think Farr is generally well-behaved.

sorry Mouser, thank you for pointing out my glaring blindness - I completely overlooked that obvious (now) option - v1 and v2 are now on a par when compared on a level playing surface.
I'm certainly going to give it greater consideration now ...

FARR was using 30.184kb when minimized! Now I've used the option minimal memory - way lower only 1.280 and fires up just as fast!
