Yes, that's the one. It tells how to get the key code for 26 Ashampoo tools and utilities.

Hmm... It is a little strange that you already can have the 2008 burner this way, because I pre-purchased it some weeks ago and am still waiting for the link to the final and official version - due in two weeks time from now.

Anyway, the 2008 burner is *ALMOST* the only new program on Raymond's list (not really, but some are already freeware versions or even abandoned), but the 2008 burner is certainly worth this price!

There is also a funny competition to win free licenses :

Remember Nero ? ;)

It is a little disappointing that they don't tell if you will get your money back if you purchase the program now when it is still discounted, or if you merely get a second license - if you win. Because if you don't win and you didn't purchase (because you were hoping to win), then you *officially* only have the full price option left to get the 2008 version, and then the competition really was kind of a trick, wasn't it.

Anyway, Raymond/PhilB66/czechboy have given us a way to get it for free.

Curt, if you go to this link at Ashampoo:  http://www.ashampoo....20&idstring=0710 and look at the ad in the right sidebar, that image saying "Ashampoo Burning Studio - Free Full Version" is a link to this page at Download.com: http://www.download....html?cdlPid=10827403  where you can download Ashampoo Burning Studio Free 6.61.

I just downloaded and installed the 2008 version : it's a cut down version, even poorer than Ashampoo Burning Studio 6.  I think you actually bought Burning Studio 8 which actually is different from Burning Studio 2008.  So Ashampoo is not giving away free versions of its next release.

Agreed - this is simply a cut-back version of one of their past burning program releases.  Still decent, but a little deceptive.  It appears they are just looking to build their email marketing list.  The disposable email address I used to download this received three "offers" from Ashampoo in the first two days.

Sorry for not having read my mail in due time, but here it goes: Burning Studio 8 [not 2008, but 8] is very cheap for yet a couple of hours, $20 against the normal $50. I guess Ashampoo is warming up for version 9:

Edited:
The offer is from Lavasoft (the maker of Ad-Aware, etcetera)

I'm having trouble with Ashampoo Burning Studio 8 - they gave me my upgrade money back!

Slide show feature freezes - doesn't like DVD-RW only DVD+ - and won't erase properly!  :(

I am not sure if my Burning Studio 8 is stable or not - because I have never really used it. Why I bothered to upgrade from 6 and 7, I don't know for certain. I guess it was something like  I already have paid it twice, but if I upgrade again  it may finally be worth the money! ?

Ashampoo seem to have the weirdest sales policies - I bought Burning Studio 2008 (and v. 6 before that) and yet I am still getting uopgrade offers to version 6 and version 2008 ???

Add to that that I frequently get 'name your price offers' on their whole range (which I have used in the past) and it is all very odd.

I suspect they are very good at squeezing every last penny of possible income out of less than class leading products. Everything seems to be about having a large targetable customer base and getting as much as possible from it (even if it is just small amounts of money, it is mostly for products they customer had no previous intention of buying).

I own Burning Studio 8 and I am very pleased with it. It is rock solid for me but I have to say that I've never tried the slideshow feature that CleverCat complained about. I find it refreshing when compared to the bloatware that Nero now puts out. I bought BS8 when Vista came out because my old Nero 6 was not Vista compatible. Well, I have since downgraded back to XP but I keep using Burning Studio over Nero.

- good to know, edbro. Perhaps I will try to actually use my Burning Studio 8 :-)
