The author made several promises about future features but somehow gave up on his baby: EVE has been abandoned for almost five years by now. One reason may have been that .SVG never gained the popularity he anticipated. Nor doesn't it help that a very important .SVG illustration is missing from the online manual, and, speaking of manual (wannabe), that EVE comes with the strangest INTRO I have ever seen. I can only show you a little part of it because the dimension is suitable for at least two large widescreens! There are no scrollbars or anything; you navigate entirely with your arrow keys!

It is extremely impressive how small this program is, but... well, it is not to my liking - either.

Actually, it's plenty popular (it's a W3C standard, after all...), it's just that other programs do svg better.
Last time I checked, Eve was severely lacking in features and svg export didn't look like a hot selling point especially when Sodipodi gave much prettier results and was almost as abandoned.
Nowadays, Inkscape, Xara and Illustrator (and some others I forget now...) are ruling the vector art world right now, so Eve is (sadly, some may say) left way behind.
