DBISAM Engine error # 8963
« on: March 28, 2008, 10:02 AM »
After using clipboard Help+Spell successfully for several months, I suddenly get the following message: DBISAM Engine Error # 8963 BLOB block buffers corrupt in the table "Clip Table." It is definitely connected with Clipboard Help+Spell. I uninstalled and reinstalled the program, but that didn't help. I even deleted windows/system32/clip.exe and restored it from a backup, but that had no effect.

I really like Clipboard Help+Spell and hope you can offer a solution.

It sounds like somehow the clip database file in CHS got corrupted.
I thought i included a clipboard database repair function but i can't see it in the options.

Assuming you can start up CHS, run it, backup your clip database from the options, and then try restoring an older backup of clips through the options.

If you can't start up CHS, then go to the CHS program files directory (C:\program fiels\Clipboard Help+Spell) and delete the files in the Database\ subdirectory (actually do yourself a favor and just MOVE them dont delete yet). then restart CHS and it will have a blank clip database.  Then you can restore one of the older clip backups from the options dialog.

Meanwhile i will put high on my todo list to add the database repair option.

Thanks very much for your prompt reply. Unfortunately, nothing I've tried works. I even tried a system restore to no avail. when I try to copy something to the clipboard, it doesn't even show up in CHS.
