The best think it can is to get this URL http://wms1.earthcam...08/balldrop_500k.wmv.

But this http://wms1.earthcam...08/balldrop_500k.wmv is not the actual video. It can even be opened by Notepad. But even the two further addresses in the wmv file would not pinpoint the real location of the streaming media.

Original website is at http://newyears.eart...urrentcam=streaming#

Thank you.

Net Transport can grab the movie from the url that UrlSnooper found for you :)
As you say, the clip starts with a "trailer" of sorts, but Net Transport finds the secondary download.  Be warned its 44mb big, but a quick test shows that it does download and plays fine.

I've mentioned Net Transport twice today -- i'm not a paid spokesperson but i do like the program.  There may be freeware tools that can do it too.

By the way i just noticed that our discount on net transport is still available for supporting members:

(note we don't make any money on people using the discounts so use it or not, makes no difference to me).

I tried Net Transport, but what it grabbed is only an 18Mb WMV file with audio only. No sign of video at all. If somebody can grab it, is it possible that you could upload it to somewhere. I really need the video. Many thanks.
