I know use of right click and sort, i want to edit the start up menu but not classify it in many groups, just want that start up menu list arranged alphabetically. I seem to find it very difficult, no clues there. PLz guide

I think I'm a bit confused about what exactly you're asking,... do you want to

A) Sort the programs that start up with windows (seems unlikely)
B) Sort the programs in the start menu (rightclick thing would fix that)
C) Show all programs in the start menu without their folders, alphabetically, without having to manually drag them out?
or D) something else

Maybe, please, clarify a bit.

I would like to go to start button on left side [my task bar] , click that start buttonand then all programs. I get a long long list of all programs. THese i want to arrange in alphabetical order. I want them to remain in alphabetical order PERMANENTLY so searching them becomes better i guess.:tellme:.

have you tried the microsoft way http://support.microsoft.com/kb/177482

or try this method http://lifehacker.co...gram-list-192291.php

i think there is a little util already floating around the web that keeps the start menu in order - maybe it was for windows 98 or something.

if you're not getting that right click menu then i'm guessing that your user account must be restricted - if not then there is something strange going on with your operating system.

maybe someone else will know more and suggest something.

you can use find and run robot here on donation coder and just start typing in the name, and it will search for all the programs that start with that letter, that eliminates the need to push the start button.
...Why am I not using it on my computer...I'll have to do that when I get home.
