I have a folder of about 800 files that I copy into the path of any new computer I get (or my servers at work) just so they'll be available, no installation needed. Most of them are "batchable", including ports of the gnu utilities plus a bunch of other items I've found, looked for, or evaluated.
Of course the real gem on the Kilowatt site is Rexx (although I prefer the Regina port, http://regina-rexx.sourceforge.net/) which I use for any scripting I need to do. (Any other old mainframers out there? If you miss the ISPF editor be sure to look at SPFLite...)
