WildGem 2.00 out now! Still free of charge as this is more a labour of love than a money spinner:

https://www.skytopia...com/software/wildgem

Ton of new features and fixes, but the biggest change is the extensive pool of examples which can selected via the a click from the dropdown menu. They not only teach you how to use the program effectively (with mini documentation for each example), but can be experimented with to your heart's content.

You can also now adjust the font sizes for all panels, and multiple undo/redo is supported throughout. For multi-stage queries, you can now see the matches at each individual stage to see how it affects the final outcome. A full list of features can be found on the home page.

Any suggestions or bugs, let me know!

Looking great! I did notice a minor text bug of both the Regex/Find -/+ button tooltips being wrong for what they do.

Looks great for those that might need it!

Add this to the ridiculous false positive list...As a test I created a new windows app in C++ Builder 10.X with absolutely none of my own code just the base project starting code and 2 or 3 claimed false positive about a year ago.

With the pandemic heavy in 2020...in the end we (Mouser and I) only thought it was appropriate to have a mug design with the thought of the virus still floating on to commemorate the year with...

Hope everyone is staying safe.

@hamradio

You know, I've always liked this program.  I've kept it on my computer for years.

I know it's been awhile since you've done anything with it, but I do have a list of requests for it if you are still interested in developing it any.

Just let me know the ideas and we will see. I create as I get ideas (and as time permits) and I haven't had any ideas in awhile for this program.

I went back to a wired Logitech G502 HERO Gaming Mouse the last time my wireless mouse had issues since it was cheaper than wireless.

I use with the Logitech G HUB software.

$40-$50 it looks like it still is at one store.

I am not affiliated with Logitech just a customer.

(Flashing tooltip)

Running Windows 10 x64 v1909, I don't have access to another OS to test it on right now.
-ConstanceJill (June 25, 2020, 05:45 AM)
Confirmed for Windows 10 x64 v1809 too, but doesn't happen on my Windows 7 laptop.

I do not think I can do anything for that as I just tell it what tooltip to show and it does it. It appears to be forcing the tooltip to display not over the taskbar/system tray as well as not allowing the tooltip to go off the edge of the screen, so that is a perfect storm you could say for the following.

The thing is when the tooltip appears and the mouse is then over the tooltip, then it thinks you are no longer over the control therefore it disappears making the mouse over the control again and that is how you get that loop. I will look into it more to make sure though.

These are some nice improvements. Thanks!

However, I don't quite understand this:
  • Delete from the layout management menu with a certain key+click combo on the layout item of a non opened layout.
Can you elaborate?
-ConstanceJill (June 24, 2020, 11:11 AM)

It is possible to delete from the layout management menu (as in deleting the file from hard drive and then removing from the menu) other non opened layouts with Ctrl+Left Click.

Version 2.0.6 build 1 of Customizable Remote Administration Panel has been released.

New Features

  • A first run welcome dialog asking for a new layout file name.
  • A layout not found dialog upon run with option to create a new layout file name or skip to select one from the layout management menu if one already exists in the layout folder.
  • Favorite system which should be seamless transfer to the new system keeping your favorites intact, but allows for them to have a title for the combo box instead of just the variable text.
  • Favorites xml file is now part of the simple backup system.
  • Delete from the layout management menu with a certain key+click combo on the layout item of a non opened layout.
  • Now includes a help file. Thanks goes out to Tim Parsons for the writing of it in which allowed me to easily create the CHM version.

Fixed Bugs/Optimizations/Changes

  • A bug with some layout button editor buttons being enabled when they should not have been has been fixed.
  • Optimized the history of variables to where the last used history entry should now be moved to the top of the history list.
  • Reworked the right click/shift+enter/down arrow key of the browse button "..." of the image file in add/edit dialog.
  • Other minor optimizations/improvements.

See first post for the download link.

I don't speak French, so I don't understand most of this, but someone recorded their experience playing the game my team made.

Turn subtitles on in cog then go back in them and you can hit auto translate the auto generated french ones to english.

Congrats as well.

Thanks! I'm not sure how accurate the translation was, but it was nice to get an idea of what he was saying as he played it.

You're welcome. Not sure either...but like you said it did seem to give an idea of what he was saying.

Hello, new comer to the forum. Sorry if this is the wrong section. Just wanted to ask/point out a few things.
-zannyzanchen (March 05, 2020, 03:23 PM)

Welcome to the forum!

Asking for an option to disable tray icon from turning red when taking a snapshot..
I've been looking to keep all tray icons displaying on the taskbar at all times instead of having some hidden, but when i do this and take a screenshot I can clearly see the app's icon changing to red each and every time. This is very combustible. I hope you can do an edit to stop this annoying thing from happening.
-zannyzanchen (March 05, 2020, 03:23 PM)

I am not the author so can't comment on the tray icon feature you are wanting that will be mouser needing to reply to this topic.

Need to be able to set time naming of snapshots to 24 hour format  (that way the name sorting will be be properly organized/kept)

Because by normal name sorting order windows will list 2_20 pm before 8_20 am.. But that's not good since the 8 am file should come before the 2 pm but if it was 24 time format naming then the time would be 14:20 o clock. Thus the proper order will be kept. Also it would be cool if we could opt to not have the Am or PM at the end. Just personal preference i guess though; I don't like it. Especially for such a case if it is already using 24 hour time naming for files. I hope you will think to make these changes thanks.
-zannyzanchen (March 05, 2020, 03:23 PM)

File naming is in the Preferences and then File Naming where you can customize the default filename template.

(Anybody remember Rusty n Edies, FidoNet, and Boardwatch Magazine?)

One part of that. I ran a FidoNet BBS right up to the early 2000s -- 2:25/108 -- and may have been among the last phoneline-based systems.

Speaking of FidoNet/BBS in general I remember...

Synchronet BBS Software a long time ago and appears it is still going pretty good.
(Has support for Telnet, FTP, SMTP, POP3, IRC, NNTP, and HTTP according to the website.)

Can't think how I never noticed this before.

I've been after something that can do exactly what this does for ages. Specifically, since I noticed that I couldn't find a way to make runas work in other tools I use.

My first impression was slight confusion -- I think you have to have read the initial request and at least some of that background, and I found some of the screenshots helpful and illuminating too. Probably fullblown documentation is unnecessary but maybe a couple of lines of text with a brief description of what each of the fields is typically going to be used for, and a couple of complete examples maybe:

For instance, if I want a button that runs Active Directory Users and Computers as a user with admin privileges from an account without them, you might have:

Image file: <sysroot>System32\mmc.exe;0

Command prefix: runas /user:domain\superuser "<sysroot>System32\mmc.exe dsa.msc"

Button caption: something like "AD Users"

and Button tooltip: "Active Directory Users and Computers"

and "Ignore variable text" checked as this one's probably gonna have to be run locally

along with a little bit of explanation that, at least for its intended purpose, the variable's going to be the remote machine you're aiming the command at rather than anything else, everything would have fallen into place fairly quickly.

If I had a suggestion for a possible improvement: a checkbox that will assume the use of runas and a little bit of program allowing a username and password to be stored and easily amended with a view to adding them to the runas command in the appropriate place without displaying it in cleartext, that'd be rather lovely. :)

But in general: wonderful! Thanks!

You're welcome!

Yeah I know still got to get to the documentation at some point since I have added more stuff over what it use to be.

Will think on the suggestion as well.
