Now that BBCode extension seems to have died (it isn't compatible, at least by default, with recent FF updates and the website has disappeared) I was looking for an alternative.

Carol, you can make it compatible with Nightly Tester Tools..

here's the program - IdenSwitch v1.01  :)
This utility allows you to instantly open Outlook Express with the desired identity, without opening Outlook Express at first.
It provides 2 methods to do that:

   1. You can simply select the desired identity from the main window of IdenSwitch, and then click the 'Switch' button.
   2. You can create special shortcuts on your desktop that will instantly open Outlook Express with the desired identity.

Notice: From some reason, IdenSwitch bypasses the poor security system of Outlook Express Identities. So even if your identities are protected by password, you won't be asked for a password when you switch to them through IdenSwitch utility.

I'm still on 1.6. M2 is nice, but I don't find it as easy to use as M1.6...
i'm still stuck at 1.5.9 but then i use MyIE2/Maxthon just to view pages that aren't compatible with Firefox.. :)

i used to have a program that will create a shorcut to open OE in your preferred account but since i don't use OE anymore, i'll have to hunt for it.. i will let you know in a while.. :)

Servant Salamander - Absolutely no support for unicode. It won't even let you launch files with unicode names from it! Useless for me and many others. They have been promising unicode support for what seems like forever now, but nothing has happened yet. ...

dirhael: 1st of all, i agree that Salamander's dev team have progressed very cautiously (about 10 years to move from version 1.52 to 2.5  :o) but to be fair they have a whole page in their help file dedicated to explaining and using workarounds in the mean time.. :)

Unfortunately, Unicode is not supported in Altap Salamander 2.5. We plan to support it in feature versions. Now we will describe how to deal with foreign names of files and directories. If you didn't encounter problems with names of files and directories, you can skip reading of this chapter. ...

yes, some forums offer handy keyboard shortcuts.. even gmail has shortcuts for compose, reply & etc.. but since they (forums shortcuts) are not available everywhere, i have come to depend on BBCode, a fx extension which appear on the context-menu when the focus is on a textarea.. :)

General Software Discussion / Re: KMPlayer and GOMPlayer
« Last post by lanux128 on July 28, 2007, 02:51 AM »
among others, one reason i like KMPlayer is that there is a no install, zip-only version that i can unzip into a thumb drive and carry it with me. if other media players followed suit then it'll be easier to try them out without a risk of messing with Windows' built-in codecs.. in short, portablility is a key factor for me.. :)
