Here's two versions with music i have license to use.

One that has a similar jazzy feel:

And one completely different and not a great match, but maybe fun for variety and with music by a friends cousin:

It definitely works on Windows 10 -- I'm using it here. But I can't remember how I installed and ran it
According to options dialog I'm using TCLOCK Redux x64 2.4.4. build 492 from https://github.com/White-Tiger/T-Clock

Clipboard Help+Spell / Re: How to change folder in CHS
« Last post by mouser on May 24, 2021, 05:08 AM »
It sounds like you did things right - edit ConfigDir.ini file to point to a different directory.  Make sure you remove the // characters at the start of the line saying its a comment line to ignore it.
Alternatively, as tomos says, the portable download starts out with a ConfigDir file that says to store in the current directory that you launch from.

Living Room / Re: freenode exodus

In any event, the details don't matter all that much I think, freenode before - libera now; this sort of thing happens from time to time. The positive thing about all this is that it illustrates how resilient irc is to a single corporate entity controlling everything. Sponsors who run servers, can just as easily run their servers connected to a different network. Users with channels can just as easily chat on another network. If anything, the whole ordeal demonstrates how decentralization is nice; if this were discord or slack or something, you'd have to either live with the new management and their policies or have nothing.

excellent points.

Living Room / Re: Hardware: HDD & Case Queries

I hear ya.  I do worry about hard drive temperatures.  One thing you could do is install one of the programs that monitors hard drive temperatures in the background, and will show them in the system tray and show an alert if they rise above a certain temperature.  There are some good free and paid apps that do that.

The top HD is a 2TB HD -- the solution that jumps out to me is to replace it (and any other HD of similar size) with an SSD.  Less heat, much faster, takes up less space.

It's a good question.. I think the ideal thing would be if someone could compose an ORIGINAL piece, 22seconds long, that is inspired and similar to that theme, but not exact.

Yeah perhaps I don't need a full band just a person in front of a computer who is good at music software... Anyone?

Living Room / Need help recreating some music -- full band needed?
« Last post by mouser on May 01, 2021, 08:54 AM »
I've spend the last 7 months or so plugging away at my new YouTube project.. Learning a bunch of new skills, having a bunch of fun.
I recently decided to make a fun retro intro for the YouTube channel, heavily inspired on the intro theme to The Odd Couple, one of my very favorite sitcoms (from the 1970).

I began with a copy of the intro which was about 118 seconds, and got down to 20 (still a bit long), but here it is, scored with the original television show theme music:

So here's my challenge -- I can't really use that original amazing 1970s music by Neal Hefti.. I need to have some original (or licensed) music, but I'd love for it to have a similar sound and feel so it mirrors it's original inspiration.

Is anyone here capable of that or know where I could find someone who was?

I need the full rich sound, so a soloist on the piano or guitar is not going to work.. It needs some horns, drums, etc..

Thoughts?

"The Emperor of Scent tells of the scientific maverick Luca Turin, a connoisseur and something of an aesthete who wrote a bestselling perfume guide and bandied about an outrageous new theory on the human sense of smell. Drawing on cutting-edge work in biology, chemistry, and physics, Turin used his obsession with perfume and his eerie gift for smell to turn the cloistered worlds of the smell business and science upside down, leading to a solution to the last great mystery of the senses: how the nose works."

Find And Run Robot / Re: Create FARR Python plug-in?
« Last post by mouser on April 16, 2021, 08:41 PM »
I'm afraid not.. It's tempting to build a version of FARR with a built-in python engine, but I don't want to add a bunch of stuff that most people won't need, so the Fscript route is currently the way to go.
