Well... You should post at skrommel's area, https://www.donation...index.php?board=57.0 .
I'm sorry i didn't understand your post.
After running the program, you press ctrl and the numbers come up. Then, just press the number of the control you'd like to activate.
Try first for the run dialog, which is certain to work.

I have bad news for you, nudone.
Even though your solution is out there, this will be one of your main reasons for procastination.
There's lots of stuff to go through when you talk about icons. I have about 550mb of them. That means 4300 icons.
But i only use one selected group. The problem is getting one pack that will have all the icons you need in the same style.

One place that was mentioned here at the forum and has fantastic artwork is www.dlanham.com . Not only icons but also wallpapers. Definitelly worth looking at.
At deviantart, there's sooo much (good) stuff, that you'll have material for weeks (maybe years? :P).

I have good news!

I now release GridCreator, so that you can play a bit with it before i release it with the next build of gridmove.

.ahk version
.exe version

(the instructions button still doesn't work, but it's simple to use. Just resize the window with only one button and press the button when you have it with the size you desire. Then, press save.)

I wouldn't mind to see the "buffers" die, though, and only have "tabs" left.
I wouldn't like that, i love being able to divide the screen in half, with 2 buffers on each side! :D

Actually, one thing i don't like about vim is the fact that, if you're editing a not saved buffer, you can't open another one unless you save the current one or divide the screen. (or open a new tab ;) )

That's because you have a small typo, insert_nick.
In the following line,
If (now>=start)
you most probably meant:
If (now>=alarm)

Hello Everyone,
I find KeyInfo very helpful (being one of those clumsy hunt 'n' peck typists and having a cordless kb), but am mystified as to why KI disappears from the tray between shutting down the 'puter one day and turning it on the next. Any suggestions? Also (a wish) could it be made semi transparent and floating on the desktop?
You mean KI disappears every time you start the computer?
That's because it is a single executeable, without install, and doesn't have any config for starting with windows.
If you'd like it to start with windows, just drag and drop the executable on to the "startup" group on the start menu.

Unfortunately, GridMove doesn't work well with my virtual desktop maanger - VirtuaWin: http://virtuawin.sourceforge.net

When I switch desktops, GirdMove automatically shows all the hidden windows and snaps them to place. Is there any way to work around this?
Sorry, but i couldn't get that behaviour on my computer.
Do you have the latest version of both gridmove and virtuawin?
Exactly in what situation does that occuor?

I am running (testing) a new version of gridmove which should be out in not much time, maybe it's related to that.
Let's see if it's fixed on the next release.

Damn, a bug report and a solution at the same time!
Ok, should be fixed in the next release!

GridMove is only supposed to work with the left mouse button if you click on the part of the title bar that actually has the title of the application, correct? When I click more to the right where there are no words, the grids do not appear. I believe this is normal functionality.
Yes, that's how it's supposed to work.

This is easiest seen if you disable "show window contents while dragging" in Windows so that you can see the original position of the title before you started dragging it.
Ok, now i see what you mean. This is a giant bug, i have moved it to the top of the todo list. Should be fixed asap!

Am I blind or is there no link to JGPaiva's awesome AHK snacks from the Software page?
Unfortunatelly, i've been quite busy, and unable to make a decent page with all my coding snacks. School is starting again now, and things are a bit confusing. I hope i'll be able to figure something out, as soon as possible.

Living Room / Re: Monitor Display problem
« Last post by jgpaiva on September 14, 2006, 04:17 AM »
Hum... I guess the best solution would be for you to get some old monitor and connect it instead.
Since you get some image on the screen when you turn it off and back on, it should not be related to the rest of the computer (i guess).

I think I may have found a bug. Whenever I drag a window from the title bar (though not necessarily while clicking on the title itself) straight to the left, it goes maybe 100 pixels and then snaps into place and the trigger grids appear.

Dang! Now I'm not able to reproduce it 100% of the time, but before I started writing this it happened every time.

Okay, I think I might have figured it out. If I drag the title bar from some place other than the title and drag it straight left into the area the title originally was when I started dragging, it snaps it into place as if I had just clicked onto the title in the first place.
Sorry, i can't quite understand what you mean.. :(
(i belive it might be that it's taking too much time to show the grid, right?)

This is a very handy tool. I'm still working on customizing it for my workplace, but I'm finding it very useful. If only this thing had a GUI where you could just draw the bounding boxes for the triggers and grids. Or take a snapshot of where the window currently is and load those coordinates into the grid. And also, as I already said, I'd like to be able to name my grids.
The gridcreator has already been started, and i got something working, but still very primitive. I'll try to get it out asap. (it was scheduled for today, but i had a few delays, should be done in the end of this week)

you copy your file,
then right click on destination folder & select "paste as hard link"
this pastes a copy of the file in the selected folder.
When I modify it it doesnt modify the original i.e. it's only a copy  :(
Actually, that shouldn't be working like that. The hard link is a link to the file itself, thus doesn't create any copy. (i do it all the time, and it never made a copy).

P.S. jgpaiva, are you still having trouble getting through here, or is it only me?
Nope, the link that housetier mentioned worked for me.

Try the following: (re)Install ntfs links, then select the file you want, and try again.
BTW... The right-click menu entry works in my dopus..

I think that all that should work, although in one of the last lines you should have:

SetTimer,CHECK,On
instead of
SetTimer,CHECK,%checkevery%,On

Deozaan... Something is definitelly wrong, it did load here. And i also have dual monitor.
Did you place the grid on the grids/ folder? (not that it should matter, i'm just trying to figure out what could be wrong).
Can you load the other grids? Does it only happen when you load Allen's grid?

There's another solution.
See information about taskbarEx here.
With this, you could just drag a task button out of your taskbar. It'd still be in your desktop, but you could make it not be on top and cover it with a window.

Ok.. Here is my nonly suggestion for this already great program, after 2 days of extensive use:
I can see what the "reset" button is there for. But there should be some way to stop the work /break cycle instead of quiting the program and starting it again.
Picture the following situation: you're working on something and you have to leave suddenly. You pause instant boss. But then, when you return, you have already rested for some time, and it'd make sense to just start a new work cycle, which means you have to close and restart instant boss. So, i think either the reset button should not reset to "factory" or there should be another button in the gui to use this function.

I've attached the grid if you want to check it out.  It's made specifically for me, but it might be handy for others, quite a few variations of the middle window (text editor, file explore, etc.) for tiling/resizing.
Damn, that's a neat grid! You definitelly have good taste on how to make them.
I'll try to get a page online to post custom grids, so that people can send them to me and i'll make them multi-screen, take a snapshot and put them online.
