While that first post was amusing to read, judging by some of the responses it seems to me that the o.p. has achieved his goal.

General Software Discussion / Re: lastpass and firefox
« Last post by cranioscopical on May 11, 2017, 03:51 PM »
just wondering if anyone else has experienced issues with lastpass in the last couple of days

I haven't been able to use it since monday - I can log in (most of the time), but that's about it.  Nothing works, no autofills, no site captures, nothing.  It's become a notebook

Apparently there was an update pushed out over the weekend that's been causing some problems (I found a discussion, but didn't bookmark it...DOH!) but haven't seen anything about a fix or a workaround.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling (no change) and rolling back to an earlier version (which worked the first time, but got updated again, and hasn't worked since)

It's working here for me FWIW. I've had no issues with it. Just lucky, I guess.

just how do I elicit a response from Agnitio?
Uhm, I don't really understand your question. You just have to give a voice command and then Agnitio will execute the command given. The commands are listen in the main user interface!  :)
-CoffeeAddict (May 11, 2017, 01:20 PM)
Thanks for the reply. I'm having a little difficulty coaxing Windows 10 into responding to Cortana (it can) and speech recognition (some issues) and Agnitio (not at all initially but later very well).

When I did have Agnitio running it reacted very quickly with the caveat that I had three of everything for example, 'open command prompt' promptly opened 3 windows. I'll try on a couple of other machines. On my Surface Book, Windows updates seem often to hamper recording rather than enhancing it, particularly as they like to fuss with the firmware.

Anyway, nice work so far and I'll be interested to see developments in Agnitio

Well, thanks for sharing.

Now, as anyone who knows me can attest, I'm slow on the uptake. Added to that, I've not yet had my morning coffee but...

just how do I elicit a response from Agnitio?

Good luck with the project, it looks interesting!

(Did you mean 'speech recognition', or is 'speech recognitio' a wink at the name of your software?)

I just knew that one of these days you were going to snap.

Glad you're having fun on your voyage, and thanks for sharing the photos! May time pass slowly for you.

And Bing, Bing, and of course Bing.
S'okay for those using the bing bong.

Thanks for posting, it's often handy to have something saved and ready to use/adapt.

Pathetic though this may be...

I have a Surface Book and am strangely pleased not to have been upstaged by a Surface Book 5.

Not to be a spoilsport, but this has gone on for several pages, and this is a thread I keep track of to see new books.  Should I just stop keeping track of it?  Or can we perhaps take the puns to a different thread?
:-[

Ever the diplomat, and you're quite right, sorry!

but I guess at this stage the question is where this information is stored

Stored, you say? ;D ;D ;D

Not trying to teach my grandmother to suck eggs, but if one keeps regularly making dated backup copies of:

    The file ClipboardHelpAndSpell.ini
    The folder PresetViews

- then one can restore these old settings files after an update, which will restore the old user settings where they had just been overwritten by the update.
Thanks for taking the time IainB,

CH+S runs so well that it's a long time since I had to look into this stuff. I have most of this kind of thing automated but, while recently replacing 3 machines with new ones and significantly updating the remainder, some stuff fell through the cracks. Eggs are cracked, eggs are scrambled, grandma's lost it.

The law says that one cannot be charged if one does not possess the necessary capacity.

Hmm, I wonder if a "trans-sister" is someone who starts out like Bruce Jenner but ends up like Caitlyn?
Perhaps, in the case of a bipolar junction trans-sister.

The comment started out as a play on "vast web of connections."

Yeah, I got that. Now that you say so, I think I spied a pun in there somewhere.

Are we really going down the wire with this?  :P

Wire you saying that Shades?   :)

I'm surprised you couldn't gauge his intent.

No, no, no! One always must protect the crown joules.

I can always rely on you to keep current on these threads.

It's a struggle to keep in step but I discovered that there's no pace like ohm.

I erg you to resist making these puns.  But obviously I ignore my own advice.

Say watt?

(Somebody had to shorten it... or buy me a better magnifying glass.)
As William Bendix said in every episode of The Life of Reilly
"what a revolting development this is!"
Guilty as charged.

Let me know if you think it might be something CHS is doing wrong.
Nope, it's all down to me - again :-[

For a recent beta I'd expunged existing copies of CH+S and hadn't properly restored the settings when I installed the new version.

You are absolutely right (of course) about the default dimmed view, I had forgotten that. Now that I have understood, I have mine set so that everything is visible under ALL.

Before taking this further let me confirm that, as usual, I am the problem. Perhaps I am performing some action out of habit. If so, I'll blame it on my unconscious  self-conscious  subconscious.

Thanks for the input.

This may be a stupid question, but can you elaborate on what is wrong with the way it looks?

The 'Excerpt' data is all but illegible.

And can you give me a screenshot of your Custom Appearance tab?

Here's the custom appearance tab as of now.
DTA - Apr 2017.png

Also, here's the 'Excerpt' panel today (which looks fine). My problem is that the panel periodically reverts to the faded-blue look, and on several different computers.

@mouser

Thanks for the continual improvements to your software!

Over the past couple of weeks CH+S has begun to appear like this in grid view (on several different machines).

Any clues as to how I can fix it? Playing with options/custom appearance can mitigate the effect but the appearance of CH+S reverts to this on reboot.

My father's favorite expression was "It's not what you know.  It's who you know."  :)

Unfortunately he never introduced me to anyone useful.  :(

Well, what do you know!
