window is shown after every PC restart

you mean the task bar thing is visible at bottom -- the actual window on screen is not, correct?

Disapears from screen, yes, but stay visible in taskbar.
ok, and is this what you meant about  it being "visible" at startup too? not main window but in task bar?

does it have same behavior is you launch it yourself instead of having it automatically start at windows startup?

Close button (X on right) only minimize program in tray, the only way to hide window is to click on file-exit.

Can you explain what you are saying.  It minimizes to tray -- so the window disapears from screen, yes?

Portable version should be exactly the same, and yes that window should not be shown if the start minimized option is set.

I saw in my BazQux feed-reader that this was mentioned on Gizmo, 29. March 2018:
Great! Thanks for letting me know

I'm a little wary of not showing any message if file is not found.  But I could put the error in the status bar, or i could make a #filecontentsi command that is similar but ignores error..

So you would like an option to hide status bar?

4K monitor 175% scaling causes lots of problems.

Strange.. I'll look into that.

I'll see if i can't add your 10 pixel nudge, maybe using some unusual combo of shift+alt or something.

Think I figured that part out. It's because my laptop is docked to two 4K monitors with the scale set to 175%.

SC should work fine on 4k monitors and monitors with non-100% dpi scaling, BUT there is a known issue that happens when you have monitors where one monitor has dpi scaling different than another (or may happen if you disconnect and reconnect such monitors).  So it sounds like that might be your issue.

Regarding nudge -- let's deal with your request in a minute -- first tell me about this: "If I single press a cursor key, nothing happens."  Can you confirm this? Testing here a single keypress always yields a single-pixel move.

It magnifies what's on the screen
This is not being done on purpose.  Can you go back to previous version and see if the magnification problem remains -- meaning it's due to some change in your system configuration.

Here are some big questions you have to ask yourself when thinking about what language to use and learn, the answers to these will greatly effect which language is best..

  • Are you primarily interested in learning good concepts and habits of coding or are you more interested in writing programs that do useful things?
  • What platforms are you most interested in? Windows, Mac, Ipad, Android Phone, Linux, micro controllers?
  • How important is GUI to you?  Are you interested in making desktop heavy UI applications, or academic console based applications, or games?
  • Are you interested in getting a lot done quickly, or writing code that is super clean and organized but may take orders of magnitude longer to write?

I have racked my brain for months trying to come up with another word game similar to codenames duet that I could use my codebase to create, without much luck.  Nothing even remotely as fun as codenames duet.
Can anyone think of a new game that has similar mechanisms and might be fun?  I'd be happy to modify code to support a new kind of game if we could think of something worth doing.

Here's what I've been trying to capture, that codenames duet does so well:
1. Cooperative
2. Thinky, fast turns
3. Push your luck element
4. Need to get inside the mind of your partner
5. Fun to talk about afterwards

As a side note, I recently experimented with the GO programming langauges and wrote a program to help make puzzles of a similar (but different form): For example, given the numbers [2, 3, 6, 15] find a mathematical expression that uses all of the numbers and reaches the target value of 7.

You can see my code here: https://www.donation....msg368923#msg368923

Here's some photos of the 8"x8"x8" giant baby cody, painted:
giantbabycody1.jpg giantbabycody2.jpg

From far away it looks great, from close up you can really see some of the imperfections: The beak needed reconstructive (epoxy) surgery; there are a couple of prominent layer lines near the botton, some areas are faceted.

I'd be happy to send this to someone who has a nice home for it (has to be indoors since PLA won't last outdoors), and would be best someplace where he is sitting at a distance.

Screenshot Captor / Re: Scroll capture - Errors and Home button
« Last post by mouser on April 14, 2018, 01:34 AM »
Ok a couple of things:

1. When the scrolling window capture dialog comes up, on the left hand side you will actually see a maximum memory use option -- In today's modern pc, you should be able to make that number a lot bigger than the default -- that may solve your memory isses.
2. Starting out sending home button -- ok maybe I can add an option to disable that.
3. Thanks for saying you appreciate the feature -- I know most people don't know about it or have use for it so it's nice to hear that someone does.

And AutomaticScreenshotter is definitely an app I would like to do more work on, so I appreciate the feature requests.

Find And Run Robot / Re: Will indexing be implemented?
« Last post by mouser on April 14, 2018, 01:30 AM »
Indexing is planned -- as an option (it will never be a mandatory part of FARR, as many people like FARR specifically because it does not used indexed search).  I just have to get off my ass and interface to an existing indexing engine.
