Well.. This free utility is almost exactly what was planned for the program ContextMenu Commander, which I actually anticipated working on this summer.

The idea is to provide a generic customizable shell extension utility where users can create their own shell context menu items.

Looks extremely promising and they even have a 64bit version and a dll that developers can use.  And the license allows free commercial use.

Very impressive.

This handy utility allows you to manage context menus items of file objects displayed in a file manager like Windows Explorer or any other application that deals with shell's application programming interface. It's a very simple way to make your often used file actions quickly accessible.

With Fast Explorer you can create new context menu items, submenus (cascaded menus), dividers, and optionally specify menu bitmaps and hint text.

For an ultimate control over dynamic context menu items added from within Fast Explorer you can define your own look & feel using the custom-drawing feature.

I think this thread is getting way too heated and antagonistic, not to mention way off topic.

Steven, I do appreciate your concerns and looking out for end users, but personally i think you are being unfair.

I have no horse in this race but i think you are asking too much of TrialPay.  I don't know of any payment provider (paypal, shareit, etc.) that can police the people using their service the way you seem to be expecting.

I think it's fair to expect payment companies to look out for users, respond in a timely way to concerns from users, and respond promptly to complaints.  But i don't think it's really fair to expect them to do deep investigations of companies that use their service to set up payment portals.  This is one of those cases where the buyer has to exercise some good judgement, as when buying anything on the web.

Regardless if you agree with me or not, I really do urge you to tone down your rhetoric -- we have a long history on this forum of engaging in passionate but *RESPECTFUL* discourse here.  It's fine to disagree but everyone here needs to do so with respect, and with some humility.

in our case honorary usually means they did something to warrant getting a full membership other than donating.  people can also be upgraded to plain "member" when they should have full access to all site areas for other reasons (like a shareware author who needs access to the shareware codes section).  occasionally i mess up and give someone honorary title when they should just be made plain "member", and vice versa.

Thanks for the post Alex and welcome to the site -- it's excellent to hear about the approach to full licenses.

While I have no experience with TrialPay, my biggest concern with other kinds of special deals is exactly what Darwin was saying, a concern that one does not get a full fledged license which is upgradeable, etc.  From what you are saying TrialPay is committed to making sure users get full licenses just as if they had purchased the product, so that's great to hear.

ah yes i understand now.  i don't know any program for this off hand, but i look forward to seeing if anyone else knows any.

one thing you could do as a temporary stop gap is run a program like my DesktopCoral program and use it to reserve a side of your screen, and then manually size and move your other programs on top of that area.  they will then be protected from other programs maximizing on top of them.
23558
i was going to suggest Allsnap.. what doesnt that do that you want to do?

Tekzel, no politics here, it will open up a big can of worms if everyone starts talking about who they are voting for and why, etc.  it's one of the few subjects we've collectively agreed is better handled someplace other than this forum.

this site has nothing to do with providing license keys for programs made by other companies.. best way to get a license key is to buy the program.

Hi nuzbarnubzor,

As Carol was saying, once you sign up at the forum and then visit the license key page, you should get a license key that lasts for 6 months (not 60 days).  And after that 6 months is up you go to that page again and it will automatically give you another license key that lasts for another 6 months, after which you are entitled to a license key that lasts forever.

UrlSnooper / Re: URLSnooper in latest PC World Magazine
« Last post by mouser on April 27, 2008, 06:51 PM »
Thanks for posting carl.

One thing needs to be said, UrlSnooper is really designed for the super sneaky sites that try to hide streaming media urls, and is probably best considered an advanced tool for power users.  It won't actually record streams for you, you need to use another program to do the actual recording.

What UrlSnooper does is find the hidden urls by actually scanning network traffic live as a streaming media file is loaded and played by any program.

IF all you want is to record a youtube video, there are much easier ways to do it, see here for more info: https://www.donation...ex.php?topic=13013.0

thanks for the post..

note that automatic network adapter detection is optional, and the better solution is probably to simply disable automatic network adapter detection in advanced mode, and then manually set your adapter.

Living Room / Take 9: A New Game Blog from the Writer at Ghacks.net
« Last post by mouser on April 27, 2008, 08:50 AM »
Martin Brinkmann, who writes the very nice ghacks.net blog, has announced a new game-related blog he's created called "Take 9".

It's off to a great start and even has a piece on Tower Defense games which we love to talk about on DC.  Good luck on the new project Martin, we'll be reading!

You heard me talk about a game blog that I wanted to create for several months and probably asked yourself if the blog would ever go live. I know that it has been a long time but I finally found some time to setup the game blog after purchasing a great domain name for the gaming site. It’s not yet ready for prime time but I definitely think I owe it to you that you are the first to be notified about this new website.

Take 9 is the name of the gaming website and it will cover gaming related articles with a strong emphasize on free games. Much like those that I introduced each Friday for a long time. The articles will be longer at Take 9 and definitely contain more screenshots and even videos if I can get my hands on some. I might even produce my own videos from time to time if I find a game that’s extraordinary.

If you visit the website I would like to receive some feedback on it. What do you think of the design, the functionality. Anything missing that you want to see on that website ? I can make changes and additions to the website with ease.

I think someone should take note of the fact that, whether you decide Linkman is right for you or not, rarely have we seen a shareware author so responsive to user questions and suggestions posted on this forum.  It's impressive and speaks very well for Outertech.

I appreciate everyone being patient about waiting for updates.

I go through periods where i release a lot of updates and do bugfixes and feature additions based on user requests, followed by periods where i have to spend time attending to other matters.  This has been an unusually long such period and i appreciate the understanding.

sounds like a good idea, ill try to add.

it only happens when SC is started automatically at boot time, right?
assuming so, it's a known issue i hope to have solved in next release.
