General Software Discussion / Re: Program Files or Program Files (x86)?
« Last post by Ath on March 08, 2012, 10:32 AM »
Quite simple:

64 bit software should go into the "Program Files" folder.
32 bit software should go into the "Program Files (x86)" folder.

This is specified by Microsoft, as enlightened in this MS community thread (and there are more, if you need them ;))

What's a "Kingsoft Pc Doctor"? Eatable? Or the local PC guru? :P

If uncertain, at least ask Jotti or and another on-line scan service.

Searched MSDN, but as mwb1100 and 40hz said Win95/98/ME isn't available there anymore. Hadn't thought about that Java settlement, but I can't really think of a reason to install it other than in a VM anyway.
Don't read
I should have some CD's laying around somewhere, though, hope they're still readable.

You'd better put some kind of Linux on 'm, where they don't come with a serial for the OS.

General Software Discussion / Re: Static webpage generator
« Last post by Ath on March 03, 2012, 11:42 AM »
Some CMS's have options or plug-ins to generate static html and present that, instead of re-building each page from the database each time it's requested. Usually for performance reasons. Doesn't yours?

It didn't take long to wonder about creating a 3D cody... they've even got something similar already...

That should be 'finished' to be a real Cody and be one of the NANY gifts for participants  :-*

How to use <!-- EXCEL2HTML - COLUMN1 --> in single file mode.

When I place that in my template, I only get 1 line as result.
Added 2 new tags for looping over the selected rows producing repeatedly the same template-section with different data. Example (xml) included.

The what's new is added to the original release thread.

I'm now officially planning some kind of filtering support.

Comments, requests, remarks, etc. are all welcome :-*

A few options are already available:

A couple of non-free tools: NetSwitcher, Mobile NetSwitch, Easy NetSwitch

Or a bit awkward/obtrusive but free Italian tool called JimiIP (sunglasses on, terrible website too 8))

Post New Requests Here / Re: IDEA: Application memory limiter
« Last post by Ath on March 02, 2012, 01:28 AM »
Hm, I'm a bit worried you need to limit the memory use of any software. The software involved should use, and get, any available memory it needs.
How are you to decide how much memory that application should be using? :-\

If memory usage is an issue, because it is really excessive, you'd optimally signal the makers of that software, and ask them to 'fix' the issue, not limit the application and possibly cripple or crash it.
Switching to some alternative that uses less memory is also a possible solution.

General Software Discussion / Re: filter display in outlook
« Last post by Ath on March 01, 2012, 09:13 AM »
Even outlook 2003 has filter/search features, I'd expect.

I use Outlook 2010 and the built-in Find feature is absolute crap.  If anyone knows of a good alternative I'd like to hear from them.
If you don't need to search archived pst files, then you might checkout Xobni.  It's more for contact management, but does a good job finding emails, todos, calendar, and memos too.
Only plausible suggestion I can think of is Xobni, but it can be troublesome to get installed on an x64 Outlook install :(

2 known search options in Outlook:
- Outlook (at least 2007 and 2010) does already have a 'simple' filter feature like that, reached by Ctrl-E (default keyboard mapping)
- Pressing Ctrl-Shift-F brings up the Advanced search criteria screen.

Isn't that enough?

Shouldn't this be better asked in the egghelp forum you referred to? I see you posted there yesterday, but ask no question(s) regarding this issue, and imho the knowledge should be there, or there's an error in the script...

With the risk of being totally wrong, but doesn't the message "wrong # args" suggest it needs 1 or more arguments passed?, so you'd type "!showinfo somenick" (without the quotes ofcourse)

Can you compile normal "stand-alone" Windows EXEs though?
Ehm, it does 'HTML 5 webapps', so you'd have to run it in a browser capable of that. Most of it is probably some form of web-page script besides HTML 5, so no (local) webserver needed.

but they are ISC files
That's the project files the applications are generated from. Open it using Illumination, and generate the desired (platform) output from it.
