It is possible that the OP checked the option 'Hide tray icon completely', but as the rest of the caption says, that's not recommended, so this option should better be unchecked.

The base folder for file saving can be set at the 'Saving and Loading files' page.
I think you can set the 'Auto Move Older Screenshots' option ('Saving and Loading files' page) in a pattern like yours, but the files would only be moved there after (at least) 1 day. The pattern would be something like:

[Select]

ss.%Y\ss%Y.%m_%b

I'm not sure if the \ could be part of that directory name, didn't try that, as I don't want to mess up my own archive.

On the 'File Naming' page you'd change the 'Default New File Name' to:

[Select]

ss.%customdate%

and the 'Custom Date Format' to:

[Select]

%Y%m%d_%H%M%S

And you really should change the 'Default Image File Format' to PNG (on the 'Image File Format' page), as that's way better suited for screenshots than JPG, as .png file compression is lossless while .jpg looses quality during the save. While that usually doesn't really matter for photos, it does matter for, relatively low-resolution, screenshots.

If you are going from 16 MB to 32 MB that would make sense, but having anything from 4 GB and up in your PC, as any PC younger than 10 years would most likely have, then having ScreenshotCaptor resident shouldn't make any difference in day to day use.

I also notice that it wants to open best and fastest from the little hidden icon box in the right end of the taskbar.  Pinning it to the taskbar and using that as a way to open it and even using the shortcut on the desktop is way slower for some reason.

Well, not to spoil your discovery, but that is the way it was designed to work. Either by activating a capture mode from the tray icon, or by hitting a configured hotkey and start capturing...

Is ScreenshotCaptor referencing a network or USB attached drive anywhere? As in storing your screenshots? That doesn't help the startup speed, as SC tries to populate/refresh the list of recent images, and that type of drive tends to give slow access when first used since some time has passed.
And adding the screenshot directory to your AV exclusions list can give a speed improvement as well.

Agreed, technically (close to) impossible. How would the software multiplex the videostream between 2 (or more) sessions?
And how would the other party/session know you're talking to them, or to the other session?
It's difficult enough to have multiple conversions at the same time with people in the same room, let alone on the other side of a digital connection...

MS Teams lets you switch to another call, but it then puts your first call on hold, just like in a phonecall, and you can resume later, after ending/pausing the second call.

When monitoring a folder, it seems to only be able to change the attribute(s) of the files, not of the folder. That is what you would usually want, I guess.
I tried to use the "Open With" action, and set "(if exist "%ParentDir%\*.*" (attrib -h "%ParentDir%") else (attrib +h "%ParentDir%"))" as the Destination Program, but that doesn't seem to work. And also it doesn't trigger if you delete a file from the directory.
Some deeper investigation in the AutoIt source of DropIt could reveal a way to do this (or extend it with a 'run command' action), but that seems a bit much.

Well, the smileys are https when displayed in a post, but not in the Quick Reply editor. Or the Preview/Full blown message/reply editor. The layout button-icons are https, but not the 'toolbar' of smileys, just above the editor surface.

Some of the smiley buttons of the Quick Reply editor have http url's, while most of the other resources are on https url's. The current browser generations have deemed all http links to be "Not Secure", FWIW.

Well, according to this guide, it's not possible to start the Photo Viewer directly providing a filename (see step 4 in chapter 2: "Open the Photo Viewer With the Command Prompt"), but if you have configured Windows Photo Viewer as your default program for the image format you have chosen in SC (usually .png), you just enable the checkbox mouser showed above, and add %file% on its own in a blank line of the edit box. Works like a charm here.

Btw, it's not needed to draw attention to a post by writing it all in bold, that's against common internet etiquette, as it sounds like shouting...

You'll need 7-zip to extract the floppy images inside the 7z files. I didn't try to install though, too far past it's sell-by date for me (it was re-packaged in 2010, but the installer files are dated 1993 )

It would help if you could describe what specific features of Direct Access appeal the most to you, and what other alternatives you have tried.

As you say, there are many programs that try to solve the display of a menu of applications, so there are probably some features that you dislike, or you would have picked one of the existing offerings already.
F.e., have you tried LaunchBar Commander, as provided in the Software section of this site?

And there is of course Screenshot Captor that allows you to automate the process, but you'll need to add some OCR software (free or paid, it should support command-line conversion, but most do) to your system, and configure it in SC to run after taking a screenshot.

Output format(s) is heavily dependent on what the OCR software supports.

Well, there has to be some separator between any content and the e-mail address, and that's most likely a space.

will give you the word 'line' as a result

RAM usage is pretty bad, yes, but CPU not so much. Right now the CPU is at 10%, and even when it's a bit higher I can live with that.

First thing I'd do is switch to Firefox, when having that many tabs open in a browser, Chrome isn't really good at that, consuming lots of memory and CPU when the tab-count goes up. I'm running one of my Firefox instances with 300 tabs, without trouble, but I do turn off that computer at the end of my workday.

I try to never touch the pagefile size, at least not since the Windows 2000 days, back in the Windows NT 4.0 days it seemed to make sense to tune it, but after that it usually got worst whatever way I tuned it away from the Windows optimal/automatic settings. Theoretically, Windows running on a 16 GB system should be able to do without any pagefile, but I've found that Windows can get really instable that way, so that's IMHO a good reason not to touch it.

Well, I initially read your post but didn't recognize the issue, Chrome is only my third browser (Firefox GA and Firefox DEV are my 2 main browsers... browser-based application development and testing on the same domain but different accounts => 2 browsers is the easiest solution).
And on top of that, even if it happened, I probably wouldn't have noticed...

I've been looking at 3D printers lately too, and I've been attracted by the to-be-released Creality cr-6-se (kickstarter link) 3D printer. It seems to be an improved successor to their quite popular Creality Ender-3 model.

Advantage of the Sovol SV01 model linked above is it's slightly larger printing range, but having to add the 'silent steppers' upgrade to the Sovol makes the Creality model quite attractive to me.

Now only to convince myself I really, really, need it...
