Modified Alias. Mouser, do you want to update the default load?

If you know of one that is missing, let me know and I will research how to add it.

By the way, "God Mode" shortcuts cannot be added, or I have not found a way to do so. If someone finds a way, let me know and I will gladly make an alias file. That would be awesome since most of those shortcuts are directly to specific parts of a control panel applet!

Post your best jokes here:

An INT, a CHAR and a STRING walk into a bar and order some drinks. A short while later, the int and char start hitting on the waitress who gets very uncomfortable and walks away. The string walks up to the waitress and says “You’ll have to forgive them, they’re primitive types."

How many programmers does it take to change a lightbulb?
None, that is a hardware problem.

Here's hoping that FARR indexing will make into FARR at some point! :-/

You can disable the Windows global hotkey assignment for Win+R using my post here:

My plan is to have FARR move from v2 to v3 with the addition of (OPTIONAL) indexing this year (2012).

Almost 3/4 the way through 2013 :-/

Living Room / Re: Google Reader gone

Is there such a thing as a desktop reader that has a "mini web server" built in to host a web-based version of the feeds for accessing remotely? I could see use in something like this. I had many issues getting TinyTinyRSS to auto-refresh when I wasn't logged in, and in fact it still does not work. Something along these lines would be perfect!

I have just stumbled upon the open source (you can download and install it yourself), or hosted solution: Based upon my interaction with this tool, it works fine with IE8, is quick, and mimics Google Reader. This will go payware, merely to cover the costs of hosting as stated in the author's blog post, but I would gladly pay for such a service.

This one is worth a look for everyone.

Does anyone know of an IE8 friendly RSS web reader? I have yet to find one. And no, I CANNOT upgrade due to my work environment. We are forced to use IE8.

Norwegian browser maker Opera Software has confirmed that a targeted internal network infrastructure attack led to the theft of a code signing certificate that was used to sign malware.

The company did not provide specifics of the breach or provide any details on the subsequent malware attacks that took advantage of Opera’s update service.

“The current evidence suggests a limited impact. The attackers were able to obtain at least one old and expired Opera code signing certificate, which they have used to sign some malware. This has allowed them to distribute malicious software which incorrectly appears to have been published by Opera Software, or appears to be the Opera browser,” Opera warned in a brief advisory.

The breach, which was discovered on June 19, 2013, was described as a targeted attack with limited impact.

“Our systems have been cleaned and there is no evidence of any user data being compromised. We are working with the relevant authorities to investigate its source and any potential further extent. We will let you know if there are any developments,” Opera said.

However, Opera warned that it was possible that thousands of Windows users who were using the browser between 01.00 and 01.36 UTC on June 19th, may automatically have received and installed the malicious software.

People who go to the gym and smell like they've bathed in cologne or perfume. You do not go to the gym to smell good, you go there to SWEAT. Leave the perfume/cologne at home!

Any ideas on a timeline

I would have thought that would be obvious. As soon as you switch away from FARR to another tool.

And there I was trying to be nice. Oh well, I guess nice guys finish last. Back to troll mode >-)

I will be adding indexing option to FARR.

Paint me "tickled pink"! Any ideas on a timeline :)

On a side note, the everything plugin from FARR is awesome and has the source code available :)

Try to convince the author of Find and Run Robot to add optional support for indexing -- that would give you the best of both worlds.

Mouser, you missed one of my key requirements... :)

...and I would prefer something that shows the promise of being updated if needed.

OK Folks, I have a new tool I am trying to locate.

As an avid keyboard user, I love the ability to launch things via hotkeys, find documents I want by typing, and being able to customize different shorts to perform key functions. Autohotkey can do this, however I prefer something with a configurable GUI that doesn't require code to make work.

I have looked at various tools like Launchy and executor and FARR. I currently use FARR but need something with indexing due to the large number of files I search in some folders. Executor is nice but it lacks the ability use some form of regexp or other matching (for shortcuts like my mstsc alias that has pre-programmed servers in it for remote desktop connections). Launchy seems to be showing its signs of abandonment and I would prefer something that shows the promise of being updated if needed.

What recommendations does everyone have? I have checked out most of the tools listed on I really want something that is keyboard focused, supports some form of filtering per shortcut, and can do filesystem browsing.

I look forward to the responses!

Curt, I would also like to know which bank that is as I have yet to find a bank, in the last 2-3 years, that only supports one browser.
