Expensive but perhaps worth it - trial versions available:

Another two programs similar to C2C are:

1] Loquisoft's ContactCopy(USD 49.95 perpetual license, per PC):
http://www.loquisoft.com/?page=7
ContactCopy – transferr contact info from virtually any source to Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, etc., with just a mouse click

contactCopy automatically recognizes the country of contact data based on address format, the language used in address elements and a place-name database. contactCopy automatically adds
the country to the postal address , the country code to phone and fax numbers (ideal for synchronization with mobile phones)

For developers:
http://address-parser.com/
RecogniContact/Web – RecogniContact as a Web service
RecogniContact/COM – RecogniContact as a Windows COM component

2] AddressGrabber Std/Business (USD 69.95/129.95) :
http://www.egrabber.com/
must pay for every point upgrade - :(

The OP leads me to think - which non-MS addressbook/ PIM/contact Mgr works well with vcf and contact copy solutions like those above ?

None of these copy contact solutions have their own addressbook.

"DevRoadmaps is about .NET development in general, not Clarion.NET development in particular. Clarion Magazine is still the place to find Clarion.NET information (at such time as the .NET AppGen is available and usable).  Whether you're using Clarion.NET or non-Clarion tools, I believe you'll find DevRoadmaps.com to be a vital source of information for your .NET business software development."

Dear IanB

I have clients who use Clarion for Windows, recently they told me about Clarion.NET IDE which is why I posted about it in this thread. My first post on DC about Clarion was in 2006 , this is my second post
on Clarion.Net.

You are right - there is less info about Softvelocity the company behind Clarion - its mostly a product website.

On this newsgroup comp.lang.clarion I found this old post (in 2000) which seems to explain more about Clarion.
http://groups.google...ion#f1f29b8064e6a848

Brief profile of Softvelocity is here : http://www.itconsult...softvelocity-122706/

quote:
SoftVelocity produces the Clarion development environment -- Clarion is a data-centric Advanced Rapid Application Development (ARAD) tool featuring roundtrip code generation that preserves your hand written code and allows reiterative code generation. Clarion is used in corporate, government and military installations worldwide.

SoftVelocity, Inc. was founded in May of 2000 when it acquired the Clarion line application development tools from TopSpeed Corporation. The acquisition made SoftVelocity the owner of the Clarion technology that has been developed since 1989 and all products based on it, including the Clarion for Windows product line and a number of accessory development tools.
unquote

It does not look like as disreputable as you infer , but ofcourse you may know more than me.

Apart from Clarion.NET there is also Eiffel (www.eiffel.com) & Omnis Studio
(http://en.wikipedia....rg/wiki/Omnis_Studio ) , also http://www.tigerlogic.com/omnis/
but I guess these are more expensive than Clarion.

1]  Will a poll help - on which is least buggy distribution to ease noobi users to use Linux daily ?
If not Ubuntu then is it Mint or PClinuxOS ?

2] Which distie would you put on a Macbook Air(13", 4GB, 128GB SSD) ?

Grateful for any tips/ personal experiences,as surely DC members are a helpful lot indeed !
If we can rank disties that DC members tried out & using now, it'd be very useful to me (and others here).

Thanks

1. Licensing: maybe 10 activations per user (Nuance says only 5) - see here :
http://www.knowbrain...7bc757285f262238111e

2. Its per user (not per PC).  So doubt more than one user / one voice input permitted.

3. Multiple Languages - Not sure.

4. All versions support bluetooth.

Knowbrainer forums seem to be ONLY place where users discuss DNS !   Thanks David!

>Unlike theirs, our hosting software was created, developed and designed in-house by us<

What software(s) does this cover ? Its developed to run on Debian Linux ?
Reason I ask is I am concerned over security of hosting under Linux.

Living Room / Re: Secure big file service ?
« on: October 23, 2010, 11:48 PM »
My ISP refused to allow me any paid ftp service, and I see that most file hosters only allow you to share files that you yourself upload with others via shared folders/access controls, not vice versa.

Living Room / Secure big file service ?
« on: October 23, 2010, 11:03 PM »
Please recommend a big file transfer service(free or paid) that can help me do this:

I need to get large files ,eg 100-200MB max from an associate in Europe(I am in Asia).

I need to own the account & control their access to it eg by give them a username/pwd, valid for a limited time period etc.   Files must be virus scanned (can pay for this).

In short I look for a service (free or paid) that allows others to upload my account, so I can retrieve the files later

Thanks for all ideas !

One needs a paid licence to access their forum ?
I searched their website but could not find any link to a forum.
So this beta is restricted to old buyers only, yes ?
