Living Room / Re: Motherboard Advice Needed

I want to change it since there are not enough options in the Dell BIOS.  It seems they have disabled or dumbed down just about everything.

Maybe there are hidden? i have heard certain bios have an advanced menu that you can reach if you press certain keys while in the bios. No idea if that's your case i am just throwing it out there.

After a newegg search i came up with this:

Customers reviews seems to indicate that this a good product, maybe it's what you are looking for.

That's pretty cool  :D

Pretty soon Google will be the web  :P

I saw this in another forum, apparently Google will let you send one Holyday card to anyone in the U.S., the link it's here. Seemed pretty cool so i took the liberty to send one to Mouser, hopefully he will get it.

I am sorry for your loss  :(

Maybe Wavosaur? maybe it will fit your needs i dunno really since i don't edit mp3 at all

Btw Steam keeps coming with deals thanks to the early holiday sale, standouts include: Left 4 dead 1 for $7.49 USD, Borderlands for $33.49 USD, Spore for $19.99 USD and Resident Evil 5 for $24.99 USD.
In other news i bought Osmos with some trouble yesterday, i have been enjoying the game so far tough after the tutorial the game gets hard, it's amazing how much stuff you can add from such a simple concept. It's definitely worth a look and oh look there's a demo.

If you are productive member of society with lots of disposable income (unlike me ugh) and enjoy PC games you will be happy to hear that Steam has a bunch of crazy deals with their Early Holyday Sale. Standouts include Far Cry 2: Fortune's Edition for $10 bucks, Dragon Age: Origins for $37.49, Batman: Arkham Asylum for $24.99 and the craziest deal i have ever seen: THQ Complete Pack for $49.99. Apparently they will keep adding crazy deals so keep a look out. Also Plants vs. Zombies is 50% off making it a 5 dollar purchase, pretty good deal since i really enjoyed the 1 hour trial.

It appears that they changed the pricing and now you can only get the game for 4.99$ using the promo code, a shame.

Go to gameagent.com's Stubbs the Zombie page and click download now, in the following page enter the coupon code: ASPYRTHANKS and the game will be discounted to zero. No idea how long this lasts but it certainly works, also apparently the store is U.S. but they don't do IP check so you should be allright, just put some phony address.

Found Deals and Discounts / Re: Free $3 MP3 Credit at Amazon.com
« on: November 24, 2009, 12:48 PM »
- but as usual only American residents are allowed to purchase MP3 downloads.

Oh yeah i forgot about that...right now i am trying to see if there's a workaround.

EDIT: Apparently THERE IS a workaround, PM for details since i don't want amazon.com to find out and screw the rest of the world.

Found Deals and Discounts / Free $3 MP3 Credit at Amazon.com
« on: November 24, 2009, 12:20 PM »
I found about this at a another forum, if you have an amazon.com account you can claim a code to get 3 dollars of credit for amazon mp3 purchases. All you have to do is follow the instruccions located in this page. Hurry up because the offers ends november 30!
Also here's a link showing all the albums selling for 4.99$ or less.

PS: Also The Orange Mountain Music Philip Glass Sampler Vol.I is free and pretty good for the little i have heard.

Note: If you don't live in the U.S. you can't use Amazon's MP3 store however there is a workaround, it involves using services that can let you access US-Only Web content, i won`t get into specifics here (send me a private message if you can't figure it out) but let me just say a simple Google search will point you in the right direction.

Does anyone here want to create a new web page on this issue of Responsible Handling of Antivirus Positives, and create a little award that could be given out to an antivirus company that handles this kind of thing responsibly?  Maybe that would at least provide a way for us to motivate, encourage, and reward an antivirus program that decides to do the right thing.

i could create one if you don't mind an extremely ugly and plain web page, okay maybe not that ugly but definitely plain.

What is so cool about Wave anyway? i hear it's like a cross between a chat and wiki, i just don't see the appeal.

FWIW

Interesting, maybe not worth all the hype interesting but interesting nonetheless. Thanks for the link. Maybe i'll get someone to give me an invite to check wave out, you know for science...

Living Room / Re: Anyone have an xbox they don't want any more?
« on: November 13, 2009, 09:19 PM »
i think i read somewhere that the original xbox had all kinds of crazy hacks available including the ability to run O.S. on it, i guess that's how you can use an xbox as a server. Anyway back to the main point i never owned a console from the xbox generation so i can't help you sorry, someone here must have an old xbox, hopefully.

yeah i have that too (in my windows xp home instalation) if you have xp pro there's a method for removing that annoyance tough i don't remember how exactly. so google is your best friend now, use him.
