Thanks for recommending RadioSure.  I am amazed it has 12,000 radio stations.

General Software Discussion / Free Program that Backs Up Your Data
« on: January 31, 2009, 03:31 PM »
If anyone wants an older version of "Titan Backup" for free, you can get it at Gizmo Richards web site here:

http://www.techsuppo...ree-titan-backup.htm

I have been using "SyncBack", a freeware program.

The main difference between the two is that Titan prompts you for categories of types of things to back up, like fonts, e-mail, web browser, etc.  SyncBack has no prompts for categories.  You manually set up profiles of what to back up.  You basically need to know everything you want to back up.

General Software Discussion / Re: How do you launch stuff?
« on: September 27, 2007, 12:50 PM »
I like Launchy so I can search for any program without having to wade through the millions of items in my Start menu.  When opening frequently used programs, I am surprised that no one mentioned FSL Launcher .  I like it because it is easy to open it by holding your cursor in a corner of your screen.  It is simple to add tabs and all you have to do to add items is to drag and drop a shortcut from your desktop or start menu.

I am a bit surprised that Image Editing is not listed.  You did a good job on Image Management so it seems natural that you would also include Image Editing.  I would expect that Paint Shop Pro and Photoshop would be included along with some freeware linke the Gimp and Photofiltre.

Screenshot Captor / 2 Bugs I Can't Live With on Screen Captor
« on: April 13, 2006, 11:22 AM »
I have used Screen Captor for quite some time.  Although it comes close to accomplishing what I need, there are 2 bugs that make it so it is basically unusable for me:

1) When I attempt to draw a second arrow with the "Arrow Object", it draws a box on the screen instead of making a second arrow.  The only way I have been able to add a second arrow to an image is to click on the first arrow, ctrl C to copy and then ctrl V to paste the arrow.

2) The option for "Text Object" has an option for border color but no way to change the line size of the border.  The only way I have been able to add a border around the text box that I can resize is to click on SpecialFx>Highlight Around Selection.  This option; however, does not follow the text box if you decide to move it.

Screenshot Captor / Re: commandline screenshot options
« on: January 22, 2006, 01:40 PM »
I'd like to see a simple file open command.  Sometimes I want to add annotations to images other than screenshots.  Of course, it is possible to add any image to the default screenshot folder, but a file open would be easier.

Need to be able to adjust line width on text boxes like you can on arrows.

Other than that, you might want to compare your program to SnagIt to see features you migh add.

I'm not sure why, but when I rebooted my computer, the autoscroll function started working on Opera.  I tried autoscroll  with Firefox again but no go, didn't work.  I have to say that when it works, it is really cool.  There have been occations where I have had to join 2 screen shots together because I didn't have a tool like this.

This screen caption program works better than any other similar program I have tried.  I especially like the annotation capability.  I would only recommend changing two things.  1) On text boxes, I'd like to be able to adjust the line width of the border.  You can highlight around a section but it is not so handy when you want to move the text box.  2) I tried 3 web browsers on the "autoscroll cap" on the "grab Windows object".  The autoscroll feature didn't work on Firefox 1.0.7 or Opera 8.51.  It would only work on Internet Explorer 6.

I am using Windows XP Home Edition, service pack 2.

Best ScreenCaster / Re: Open Source Alternative (CamStudio)

George Here!

Thanks for the nice comments about my review of Camstudio.  The author said that the SWF Producer creates such large files is it converts them to either PCM or ADPCM.  I think Nick would like to add MP3 to the list.  If any of you are interested, you can e-mail him at [email protected]>
