General Software Discussion / Gmail SENT MAIL Confusion
« Last post by MamasBoy on July 10, 2015, 05:59 AM »
About a year ago I began to have problems with my Gmail and to this day they remain unresolved. (ASUS desktop with Windows 8.1)
Specifically, when I send a Gmail, I used to see the email in SentMail, but now I get a message that says something abut a trashed conversation and it doesn't automatically go to SentMail.

I have a desktop ASUS, Windows 8.1 and want to build a home page with my favorite links. Is anyone aware of software that would help me with building the favorite links or maybe a HTML template?

General Software Discussion / Gmail & Aid4Mail
« Last post by MamasBoy on August 27, 2014, 04:47 PM »
I have an ASUS desktop with Windows 8.1 and I use Gmail. Because I could never get my computer to recognize Gmail as my mailer, as this is essential with programs like Nuance's Dragon and  Copernic Desktop Search, I just   purchased Fooke's Aid4Mail in hopes this would clear up the problem.  No such luck. Is there something special I have to do to get the OS to recognize Gmail as my mail system?

General Software Discussion / Re: The Best Email Extractor?
« Last post by MamasBoy on April 02, 2014, 08:02 AM »
I'm sure your intentions are honorable, but the email links were set up by people who WANT to be contacted as part of a  genealogical study I've been doing for 13 years. Because these sites are linked together, I thought a spider email extractor would be the best tool.

looking for software that will strip email addresses from a web page. It would be even better if the app could spider into subdirectories as well.

General Software Discussion / updates for Microsoft Client Virtualization Handler
« Last post by MamasBoy on February 13, 2013, 01:35 PM »
It all began with some innocuous-looking error codes, and before I knew it, my Office 2010 shut down.
Now I get "Updates for Microsoft Virtualization Handler" messages. What to do? 9Windows 7 - 64 bit)

General Software Discussion / moving items in sudirectories
« Last post by MamasBoy on October 07, 2012, 08:48 PM »
I use Directory Opus as my Window's Explorer replacement, but this question also applies to Window's Explorer. When you have a folder(directory) with lots of sub-directories and the sub-directories lots of files, and you want to consolidate all the files into a new folder, what do you do? (If I wasn't clear, I apologize. What I'm trying to do i strip-out all the files in all the sub-directories at once and copy/move them to another folder.)Thank you. Martin

General Software Discussion / Video Software Query
« Last post by MamasBoy on September 16, 2011, 08:04 PM »
I have a number of .flv clips from movies with different frame sizes. Is there software you're aware of that will allow me to edit these clips contiguously with some type of transition fade, then burn the entire film onto a dvd? (I'm basically asking if there's any software that will work with video clips with different frame sizes.) Thanks in advance.

General Software Discussion / Does "OS Transition" software exist?
« Last post by MamasBoy on September 11, 2011, 10:18 AM »
Profile: I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate (x64) Service Pack 1 (build 7601) on a Dell Studio XPS 9100 with 24 GB of  DIMM RAM. Due to consistent .dll error messages(primarily mssprxy.dll), Dell Support technicians have advised me that my .dll problems are the result of software corruption of an unknown source, and have advised me to format my local hard drive and re-install Windows 7.

Question 1: Is there software I could use to make the OS transition less onerous? In other words, does software exist that would catalog my current programs so re-installation wouldn't be the nightmare it currently is? (I've already purchased Recover Keys)

Question 2: Does diagnostic software exist that I could use to confirm the Dell analysis?

Question 3: I don't know what I was thinking when I purchased 24 GB of RAM. How can I determine if it's all being used?

(Thank you in advance. This is a very helpful forum. I urge visitors to actively support it)

General Software Discussion / mouse cursor "wraps" around edge of screen
« Last post by MamasBoy on August 22, 2011, 11:42 AM »
Several Windows iterations ago I had a software program that, among other things, "wrapped" the mouse cursor around the edges of the screen. Does anyone know of similar software that would work with 64-bit Windows 7 ?
