Vic, still often getting same error as mentioned back a few months:

Hope you might be able to figure out the reason.  Seems to be timing.  Maybe due to Edge browser.  Who knows.

Thanks!
Nicholas

Now Vic is up to 0.4.0 on this project.  Has been working really well for me.

I've accumulated over a thousand URLs linking to ebooks I want to download.  URLister brings 'em up one at a time.  I've set up a macro to do the downloading.  After download, macro goes back to URLister for the next.

Thanks Vic!

Nice, Vic.  So far so good.  Keep up the fine work!

Vic, most important change needed at this point is to disable the global hotkeys.

Those hotkeys interfere with other programs.

Thanks!

Ath, no problem here exactly.  But appreciate the suggestion.

I do try to keep drivers updated.

URLister is a good program.  So glad to have found a substitute for Flem.  And super glad URLister remembers (so far) where exactly it left off, so that I can easily return to visiting a very long list of URLs.

On a UHD monitor, URLister on left half of screen, browser (Edge) on right half, both stay open.  I close tabs as needed, after a number of URLs have been opened, via URLister.

Vic, occasionally when clicking to go to next URL, I'm getting the error message below.  Using Edge, by the way.

Yes, latest beta.  No luck.

Wonder what it could be.

Your other program, Automatic Screenshotter, takes full desktop/workstation pics.

I've looked and looked through settings, and think all the settings are fine.

84
Still the same here.  Only upper-left portion of screen gets captured.

Maybe my settings/preferences are wrong??

Thanks.

Latest beta version still only capturing north-west section of UHD screen....

I like that URLister maintains the state where you have left off....

I'm downloading files...  Long list...  Didn't get done, of course...  So, close URLister, wherever I happen to be in the list.  Go away, go to bed.  Come back.  Open URLister.  Pick up right where I left off.

Hope that stays in the program.

Coming along nicely, Vic.  Glad to see you are still working on URLister.

Possible enhancements, but not absolutely necessary:

1)  Appears to be a 'GLOBAL' macro' built into URLister, affecting certain keys (shift-a, for instance).  If so, that should be documented within the program.  With ability to shut off.  And, perhaps, reconfigure.

2)  Allow dragging a FOLDER of shortcuts/desktop links in.  Default is to include just the shortcuts in the top level of the dragged-dropped folder.  But, perhaps offer option to recursively find all shortcuts within the entire folder hierarchy.

3)  Add to CONTEXT MENU in main screen (where URLs are), "Save As...", to a text file, entire list of URLs loaded.  With some default subdirectory where .txt file will be saved.  (Default could even simply be to program directory where Urlister.exe file resides.)

As discussed before, I would use a macro program to run URLister.  Macro would be set up to:

-- click to next URL
-- close open browser tabs, other than current tab (the one just opened)
-- position mouse cursor optimally for next step of process

Thus, in my case, no worries that so many tabs get opened.  They will be gone with each iteration of URL opening.

But, others will complain.  New tab, new tab, new tab....  yikes.

Bottom line at this point, I feel URLister is an improvement over 'Flem', my present URL list opener (Waterfox extension, now discontinued).

Well, keep up the fine work!!

Nicholas

I'm a RightNote huge fan.  All around excellent snippets-capture program.  And the standout capture mechanism -- for me, the tilda key on the keyboard.  While researching, highlight section, then tilda key.  Saved.

Two concerns, however.  Hopefully these will be remedied:

1) As I am collecting and saving, via RightNote, a lot of info that I want to later have access to, the content MUST be readily accessible, even indexable.

2) Would be nice to use some bolding (formatting) on various text sections I've saved.  Don't think that's there presently.

I'm presently using only one monitor with my main computer.  UHD.  Windows increases zoom to 125%.  Always capture whole monitor.  (Easier to edit down the capture as wanted with another edit program.)

Interestingly another of mouser's programs "Automatic Screenshotter" works perfectly.  Terrific program.  Takes a pic of entire monitor every so many minutes (seconds, etc.).  Captures are named according to YOUR preferences.  (As with Screenshot Captor.)  That alone is a huge advantage over those capture programs that don't let YOU choose the filenames.

Screenshot Captor / Capture Only Grabs Upper-Left Portion of Screen
« on: February 12, 2021, 08:05 AM »
Tried as many different settings as I could think of in Preferences.

No matter what, only Upper-Left portion of screen gets captured.  Around 70% of the entire screen.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Screenshot Captor / Re: Screenshot on High Definition Monitor

Thanks, Tom, for the reminder.  Just checked, and saved images in SC look fine.  Apparently the issue is with the viewer -- an old version of ACDSee.  Probably need to find a better image viewer.

Thanks Mouser.  I use another image viewing program to subsequently view the saved screenshots.  Perhaps the problem lies there.

Any suggestions about what the presently recommended image viewer is out there?

By the way, Windows 10 is set at 150% scaling on the UHD monitor, if that affects anything.

By the way, Vic, and others... I had asked about this functionality years ago.  One person that worked on it is at this link:

RegaLink

He, Stephen66515, did a pretty good job, until he stopped.  He left available his code for others to use if they wanted.

Screenshot Captor / Screenshot on High Definition Monitor
« on: February 03, 2021, 01:30 AM »
I tried Screenshot Captor on a UHD monitor (3840x2160) and noticed all the screenshots appeared blurry, not like the original screen looked.  (Desktop, for instance.  Simply taking a screenshot of the Desktop.)

On a 1920x1080 screen, the Screenshot Captor screenshot was seemingly exactly as clear as the original screen appeared.

What gives?  Is there a setting that I can adjust?

Thanks much!

Excellent video.   Can't get clearer than that.

Windows 10 Pro, 20H2, 19042.746, Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.1070.0

And presently using the new Edge browser.

But willing to use ANY browser with URLister.  Noticed the only option is "Default."  If user can insert in the .xml file their preferred browser (path, etc.), that would be sweet.

Nice, Vic.  Coming along!

Enhancement Requests:

-- Allow .txt list of bookmarks to be dragged to URLister icon, to automatically open into program.

-- Allow .htm/.html list of bookmarks to be dragged to URLister icon, to automatically open into program.

The above two items will allow URLister to be placed into the SendTo folder as well.

-- Allow .txt list of bookmarks to be dragged to URLister opened program window to open.

-- Allow .htm/.html list of bookmarks to be dragged to URLister opened program window to open.

Copied and pasted a list of URLs into program okay.

Received the following error message:

Thanks!

Great, Vic.  Glad you are still game.

Probably users in general would not want to be reloading their browsers.  But, I don't have a problem with doing that.

Actually, a clever idea.

If unloading browser is accepted, URLplayer may be usable presently -- except for needing a much, much larger list allowance.

If I am orchestrating the whole works on my system, I can tell my macro program (presently MacroExpress) to unload the browser -- after, say, two minutes (to download a .pdf file).  After browser is unloaded, go back to URLplayer, and load the next URL in the list.  Which will fire up the browser again, and go to the subsequent page (or download the next pdf in line).

So, what we would have is a nice 'semi-automatic', with a really long clip.

Thanks much, Vic.  Another thing I noticed is that URLplayer does not yet allow for opening JUST ONE tab of the browser (in my case, Edge -- seemed Chrome was suddenly sort of misbehaving on various fronts...).  Instead, multiple tabs are being opened, one per URL.  Perhaps that's unavoidable.  Since I am downloading so many files, it would be necessary to have the option of just a single tab being repeatedly used.  (Possible with the Waterfox/Firefox extension Flem, now history...)

Number of lines appears limited.  Increase that by tenfold.

i.e., from roughly 300 --> 3000.
