Any reason to choose DivX over the (free) XviD codecs, though?

No... but at this price... why not? I have both installed and there are no conflicts that I am aware of (I got DivX free the LAST time they made this offer. I've been receiving free updates ever since).

Yep - the offer appears to have closed for the time being.
