Open only one file manager window
« on: October 20, 2022, 11:25 AM »
Is there a way to open a folder (or go to a file) after search, but not in a new instance of my file manager? I use Directory Opus on Windows 11 v. 22H2. With my current settings (default after installation of FARR) when I press on a search result a new instance of Directory Opus is started.

form the dopus site:

If you only ever want to have a single Opus window open then the following options will help.

one is for Desktop Double-click and the other is for Taskbar Icon Double-click.

(.) Bring the last active lister in front....

Thank you for the suggestion. The link that you gave was useful as it led me to the right solution for my case. The setting that I adjusted was in "Explorer replacement" preferences and I enabled "Open external folders in a new tab". Now when I click on a search result in FARR the folder selected is opened in a new tab in my existing Lister which is what I wanted.
