Alien washes up on NJ beach
« on: June 24, 2015, 11:12 AM »
This reads like a tabloid headline.

A potentially deadly jellyfish-like sea creature washed up on a New Jersey beach over the weekend, officials said.

Isn't almost anything potentially deadly?

Portuguese man o' war, floating around, is seasonal in S. Florida.
And they could be deadly, I guess, if the tentacles got wrapped around your upper thighs or got in your mouth.   :o

Its nasty sting is excruciatingly painful...

Yes, very painful and lasts around 30 minutes.  With paralyzing and numbing as well.
