client side efficiency increase

hello!

there is a website/server which due to the fact that many people try to use/access it, it hangs up making a simple work with it to last several minutes

is there anything one can do from the side of the client, in order to decrease this delay?

Yes: pay/donate more money so the site-owner can buy more/better hardware, and get better software.
