Irirangi.net radio stations
« on: November 01, 2010, 06:03 AM »
Hi all,

Could anybody give me a hint on how to gain stream URLs on irirangi.net radio stations? The fact is that I manage to easily retrieve them but they dont actually play. For example you have a radio station at
http://www.irirangi....B5-8B1A-895033462ED3
and the retrieved stream URL is
http://10.3.0.56:8000/Q_Atiawa_Toa.aac
beautiful hunt you'd say but it wont simply get played. Why???

All the radio stations are at
http://www.irirangi....t/listen-online.aspx

I'd be grateful for all advises anybody could give me. I have no problems with combinating URL feeds, searching for them in "show all" mode if nothing else works etc. I dare to say I'm quite seasoned in this respect but here I've just totally failed. :-)

thanks a lot guys

10.x.x.x/8 addresses are not natively routable over the internet.  They're known as one of the following:

  • Private class A range
  • RFC 1918 space
  • Bogon

You may be more familiar with the private class C range of 192.168.x.x/24 addresses.  This address range isn't natively routable over the internet, either.  I would suspect that the 10.3.0.56 is an internal address and the folks running this site are using NAT to reach it from their Flash-based player.  Make sense?

Hi,

Much thanks for the explanation.

It does make sense, I have to admit I didnt think about this possibility but when talking about it it appears to be more than logical.

But they arguebly have aac format streaming through http protocol and it's suspicious that URL Snooper didnt intercept the right packets running to the network adapter because there must be a valid stream URL otherwise it wouldn't play at all, would it???

I tried combinating it with http://www.irirangi.net:8000/and the rest was identical and also with another IP address it sniffed for some "doctor billybob" picture thinking it could be the external IP address but nothing worked.

If they had rtmp protocol then I'd leave it alone but it must have some solution when it has http protocol and aac format so big potential to get played. :-) OK let's wait if anybody with better knowledge than me will chime in...

thanks alot again
