IDEA: File/Directory Search with Aggregate Report
« on: July 30, 2010, 12:24 PM »
I have a lot of audiofiles on different  HD's  (mostly one CD/Folder) with varying audioformats mp3 flac ogg ...
I need the possibility to say look for all my .flac(mp3 ...) files but report only the first found in each folder or only the folder.

Example:
Look for .flac on Drive D and E
gives                 D:\Audiostuff\The Black Eyed Peas - The End  (2009)\01 - Boom Boom Pow (Album Version).flac
                        E:\Audio\Sade - Soldier Of Love (2009)\01 - Soldier of Love.flac
or only folders     D:\Audiostuff\The Black Eyed Peas - The End  (2009)\
                        E:\Audio\Sade - Soldier Of Love (2009)\

Thanks

Do you only have need to search for a single extension at a given time i.e. only .flac or only .mp3?  Also, what type of output would you like?  A listview?  Simple text file?

Give this a shot:  Download

One caveat...I compiled it with the AHK_L version of AutoHotkey to give it unicode path scanning capabilities.  The drawback is that the GUI will seem to be unresponsive while it's scanning but, don't worry, it'll finish scanning and then populate the list.  You can right click the list to get a menu that will allow you to open the current path, clear the list or copy its contents the clipboard.  If you find that unresponsiveness annoying, let me know, and I'll compile it with the native AutoHotkey build.  You will lose the ability to scan unicode paths, though.

You're welcome.  Did you need anything else added to the app?  Currently, it doesn't save any settings but that's easily added if you need it.  If not, we'll call this one done.   :D

Together with CovArtOps it builds a perfect pair for my audiofile needs, you can call it done and thanks again.
