Looking for an addon - Firefox
« on: April 03, 2010, 03:03 PM »
To the all-wise, all-knowing community of donationcoder. I seek your assistance on the most importance of quests.

I seek an addon whose power is to synchronize firefox profiles amongst multiple systems. Yeay, I call out to ye. Who will answer my call?

(i'm sure there will be a plugin - if in the unlikely event there is not, you could go the DropBox/hardlink method.)

You can try PowerFolders, it is a syncing program

Xmarks for bookmarks if that's what you're after.

Well you can manually do it with febe, which is what I do, because I know the opera link feature in opera and it actually annoys me a bit.

There's also (Don't personally use, but might be totally what you need):

Siphon Syncing addons

Wave syncing everything

Thank you for reading this post.

If you're talking a few machines I'm with Musubi on FEBE. On a new Firefox setup the first AddOns are FEBE to get my other AddOns and SyncPlaces to download bookmarks and passwords from my ftp site. The nice thing about it is the Personal Toolbar handling.  One download with SyncPlaces and the Personal Toolbar is there with all my folders and bookmarks in the proper positions.

In Firefox 2.x I used MozBackup.  But SyncPlaces and FEBE seems a lot smoother.  I'm not sure, MozBackup may be improved in FF 3.x versions.
