DONE - IDEA: change wallpaper at specific time - not timed intervals.

it's been so long since i used temporality screens..

the .thm files are just text files you edit in a text editor like notepad.exe
the sample .thm files tell you most of what you need to know.

here's the hourly.thm sample file which sets a dif picture for each hour of the day:

You can request this feature on BioniX Wallpaper Changer forum. You will see that are a lot of requests made by users and they have been implemented after few days.

I have asked for such a feature and they implemented it.

looks to me like BioniX doesn't actually do what this original post was all about. it simple changes the image at timed intervals, I can't see anywhere to set specific times for specific images.

welcome to the site supermazy -- TemporalityScreens doesn't have too many users so i'm a little rusty on it, but
it looks to me like it's probably getting confused when the start time is later than the end time.
a good workaround to try would be to change the single entry:

can you clarify -- is the program not working at all and never changing pictures, or is it working for some time periods and not others?

Between 22:00 to 05:00 wallpaper stops change.After the 05:00 everything is OK.

make sure you restart the program after changing the .ini file.
it's just too much of a coincidence that the problem happened during that one time period where start time > end time, that i'm convinced that's the problem.
so i'm convinced that the new changes should work.. maybe try using a different picture for those time periods from 22:00 to 5:00 just to test it, and make sure to restart the program after changing the .ini file.

In the sample_hourly theme all wallpapers are changing correctly at a time.There is no problem.But when i put the my pictures changing corrupts.I deleted the all temporality_screens folder and unrar again.But result is the same.

I made some experiments.Is the program refuses pictures are bigger than 600kb or 1024x768 screen solution  ?.Some pictures are changing correctly but someone doesn't change.When wallpaper changes not correctly i set tmpbmap.bmp file as a wallpaper from right-click menu but does not change.

I changed the converter.exe to new one.But result is same.

And i wonder 01-02 means 01:00 to 02:59 or 01:00 to 01:59  ??


Update !!! I think I figured out what's going on.Wallpapers which are changing not correctly have a 300 DPI.The others have 72 DPI.I corrected them but unfortunately problem continues.

Boy it's been a long time since anyone asked about this tool.

Just had a glance at the old code and i can't see anything in there that makes me believe that it actually does implement this feature of choosing one randomly if you separate with ;  it sounds to be like it was a feature i never got around to adding..

Is this something you really have a use for? It wouldn't be hard to add, but I'm wondering if we might ask dc member Skwire to recode it using his awesome skills, and make it a little easier to use.  Since he writes this stuff in his sleep.

But i love this, it's the the only wallpaper tool that can set the wallpaper for one day, or several for different times of day. I have looked quite a bit for other tools that can do this but found none.

It would be nice to not have to specify every file in the configfile when wanting to use a random wallpaper from say (as above) a folder named backgrounds.

Agreed.. main thing i'm thinking about is whether it pays to try to improve Temporality Screens, or rewrite it from scratch or ask skwire to make a new version that is easier to use..
