AutoClip and Windows 95
« on: June 23, 2009, 08:01 AM »
Hail!
Being a dinosaur I still use Windows 95. Yesterday I tested AutoClip 4.0. That program didn't work well and I even got an error about the registry. No damages occurred though.
I suppose W95 is not suitable for AutoClip but I can't exclude other reasons.
Would someone clear my doubt?

Giampy,

I thought I was a dinosaur and I use Win98SE  :)  I don't know about AutoClip, but you might want to try some of the older clipboard enhancers.  I don't know for certain that they'll all work on Win95, but they should on Win98 so there's hope.  I've only tried the first two myself.

  • ArsClip (version 3.0.2 was the last one that worked on Win98SE for me)
  • ClipCache 1.41 (last freeware version) OS: Win9x/NT/ME/2000/XP
  • Clipomatic  "works on any modern version of Windows."
  • Oscar's MiniCLIP  "this was written in a time when NT 4.0 was a hot beta and Windows 95 was gaining popularity"

There are many other DC threads mentioning clipboard extenders: try a forum search.
