I was googling and found this masterpiece of software: It just does it job, soooo damn well!

I renamed 148 episodes so far, seamlessly! The best part: It's freeware!

While I have seen more powerful, versatile renamers I don't think I have ever seen one especially tailored to the task of renaming TV shows. Excellent find...

This is awesome! And to think I spent hours doing this by hand in other renamers.

I'll have to give this thing a try! I've also spent hours copy and pasting names from sites like epguides.com .

I wonder how does it compare to Total Commander (of course ;) ) and Multi Rename Tool with this plugin:

Is it really supposed to take hours?

Why download and install plugins, if this piece of software does it job very good?

Because Total Commander is one-stop file management. Yes, this piece of software does its job very well & I may end up using it myself pretty soon, but if I can get the same functionality in Total Commander I'll go that way because that way, without switching programs, I can rename, sort, copy, move, archive, and even FTP transfer the episodes with using just a few keypresses after I rename them.

If all you are going to do is rename an episode then you can't do much better than this, but if after renaming you have to copy or move it somewhere whether it's on your PC, a PC on your network, or somewhere halfway across the internet then this program won't do any of that.  :)

Just felt the need to say that this is by far one of the "coolest" single-purpose utility I've ever tested. It does exactly what it says on the tin, and the result is never anything less than perfect!

Although theRenamer looks cooler than TVRenamer but I prefer the later because:
1 - it supports file names like lost.101.avi
2 - it can use the Folder names for show/season information.
3 - it's responsive when moving/copying files and allows you to cancel the process.
4 - there's a copy mode where you can safely test the application.
